Who is the DIRTIEST fighter in boxing history?

"Dirty" meaning they either broke the rules or consistently came close to it.

Look up a guy named Fritzie Zivic.

 

Fritzie Zivic...Welterweight Champion in 1940 & 1941. Beat Jake LaMotta...Henry Armstrong..."Bummy" Davis...Sammy Angott...Charley Burley...Lew Jenkins...Freddie Cochrane. "Thumbing" your eyes in a clinch...using his knees and elbows..."heeling" his opponents with his gloves...you name it...Zivic did it. Died in 1984 at age 71. He's been called the "dirtiest fighter" of all time.

How about Two ton Galento for that title? I love to see Andy Ruíz fight, but he clearly kept hitting AJ in the back of AJ's head with the back of his hand in the first fight. Muhammad Ali kept holding without getting penalized...

 

I answered 'other' because in pro boxing there is no place for nice guys. You have to deliver and receive all the dirty blows/elbows etc., otherwise you don't survive. Pro boxing is a dirty game, deal with it.

Since we are reliving this question, Rocky Marciano as great as he was is a solid candidate for a dirty fighter with his constant head butting and low blows not to mention an occasional elbow for good measure. Muhammad Ali once mentioned Marciano as a dirty fighter after watching him fight Archie Moore on film from Sept 21 1955.

I know there have been dirtier (Zivic, etc), but Golota deserves a special shout out for the COMBO he threw to Bowe's nuts.
