Fury is the WBC champion, him taking the Ngannou fight so he could add a few more boar cycles and put a bit more mileage into Usyk by making him face a mandatory is completely different to Joshua who is belt less and has no obligations. Nice to know you hold them both in the same regard though.

 

That's a weak cop-out. You have to have a belt to fight top opposition? A champions standards (former, current or aspiring ) should be consistent.

It's sad to see you hold AJ, a former two-time unified champion, to such a low standard.

I agree the francis performance was awful, but not as embarrassing as the bodybuilder vs Ruiz or his pathetic antics post usyk 2.

But you never know - inactivity (or inactivity at a respectable level) can make better and more experienced fighters than Hrgovic inconsistent... Dubois is certainly limited, but he's sharp and has been fighting live opponents.

Both these fights could be very one sided or genuine 50/50 jobs - we just don't know yet!.

 

What's a more impressive win for Fury? The second Wilder fight or the third Wilder fight?

I'm not really seriously debating you though, more just replying in throwaway fashion to your posts. And if you happen to make a post worth debating (which is possible as you're not historically a crap poster) then I'll debate it seriously.

And yup if Joshua fights Wilder I will be lapping it up, because I've longed to see Wilder get brutally flatlined by Joshua for years and I'm sick of the idiots thinking he'd beat him. I won't pretend it's a particularly good fight though. Aside from the fact that it was always a mismatch, Wilder is now way past his best and would be coming off potentially two back to back losses. Narrative would change if he KOed Zhang though.

 

I'm at a crossroads. Whoever wins undisputed, I want them to retire undefeated whether it be Fury or Usyk, just so the aj fans can cry. It would be hilarious considering they gave him so many chances at the belts lol. Privileged

Big IF though. And while I want to see it AJ is giving me about as much hope of that fight happening now than Wilder did back in 2018. I'll be happy if I'm proved wrong.

 

I guess it depends how you look at it. If we are talking about "so many chances at the belts" then both have been equally privileged, perhaps Fury even more so

Joshua has had two opportunities to fight the champion for WBA, WBO, IBF combined: First against Ruiz Jr. and then against Usyk. Won one, lost one. Similarly, this will be Fury's second opportunity to fight the champion for the three belts combined (if there is a rematch, he will also have a third): Once against Klitschko, and now against Usyk. Fury has also found ways to mess up earlier opportunities to fight Joshua and Usyk for the three belts. Now if we look at the missing piece: the WBC belt, Joshua has never fought for the WBC, whereas Fury was given not one but two shots before more deserving contenders who had been waiting in line.

Anyway, Usyk might fight Hrgovic, Fury might fight Sanchez. Doubt either fights two of the three you are hoping for.

 

2 of AJ's losses were to Usyk, which may well happen to Fury in a couple of weeks (if he even bothers with the rematch), so at that point the only variable between them is a far superior resume for AJ. If Fury loses to Usyk, then AJ's arguably had a better career. That becomes unquestionable if AJ becomes champ again (or if AJ beats Fury).

Yes, AJ lost to Ruiz, who's no worse than a Rahman, McCall or Douglas that other greats lost to. Not saying AJ is on a Lewis/Tyson level, but he's been fighting a higher level of opposition where slip-ups have happened to the best fighters.
