Michael Gerard Tyson vs. Jacob Joseph Paul

Just read they are going to wear 14 oz gloves instead of 10 oz in this farce.

 

Almost hate myself for commenting on this thread but.....what board actually sanctioned it - or are they just hopeful it will be?

Wouldn't have thought anyone would want this **** show on their hands.

 

Me as well, would be insane to see Mike put Paul into orbit. I'm just thinking rationally; I'm not sure that Mike can land a big one before gassing out.

 

Texas doesn't have a separate Boxing Commission. Because, well, it's Texas. It has a Department of Licensing and Regulation, under which "Combative Sports" are regulated and gives out licenses. It was created by and used to be run by Laurence Coles father. Yes, the Cole who is a crap referee and will most likely be the ref for this bout.

 

I heard they'll use 14 oz gloves as well. so it's a pillow fight.

 

This whole event is a farce. Whatever happens will have been staged beforehand.

 

All they have to do is identify themselves as women for that fight and things will be fine. It will only show up on their female competition record.

If Paul wins he will still respect him, Tyson is a 60 year old legend. I will say this, Tyson wants to take his head off, an old athlete has alot of pride. For mike, this is bigger than a world title fight, his kids, grand kids will be watching, he wants to prove to them he is still a bad man, he actually bragged that he would lay this guy out on his show a while back before this fight ever came about, if i remember right. So now he is in the hot seat.

 

It can't damage his legacy, he's just to old for it to count. If he wins it will add to it though.

 

After thinking about it, Tyson is levels above Paul in experience and technical skills. He knows and has trained for an 8 round fight against a relative novice, so Mike might make it the distance if he has to. He just has to repect Paul.

 

I find Paul v Tyson unpalatable on so many levels.
