    I did like Pavlik and his big right hand but Hopkins just battered him.

    Yes. Talking about the hype train, he was unbeaten going into the Prescott fight.

    Peterson one robbed but he was warned for pushing and got point off.

    I still think Lacy would have gone on to have a very decent career had he not fought Calzaghe, that fight took things from him that he never recovered from. When you go into a fight as the strong favourite and then get so clinically schooled it's got to mess with your head unless you are made of extremely strong stuff. He was being talked about as a 168 Mike Tyson, people were fearful of him and his power but Joe showed zero fear once in the ring and ran rings around him. It's one of the most polished displays I've ever seen in a World Title fight.

    His corner assisted that demise in my opinion.


    He was miles behind, cut, beat up, exhausted, yet they still sent him out round after round.


    A career ending beating ensued as a result.

    It still baffles me that Lacy was such a favourite. They didn't do their research on Calzaghe. He had such an engine.

    I think they were looking at his age, injuries, unfounded reputation for a lack of power (Calzaghe could really whack, but held back because of his incredibly fragile mitts) and maybe thought he would steamroll him?

    Was a major miscalculation, but I can sort of understand why at the time
