Who was the toughest, baddest boxer of the last decade?

Beterbiev ticks all the boxes. If Inoue looked scarier he would be my pick

Wilder fought a bunch of nobodies until he got to Ortiz. We saw him get exposed vs him and Fury.

 

For sure Mr. Zelenoff.

 

I said what I said....................whether you like Wilder or not (and I don't), his peers (other boxers) and damn near everyone else in boxing considered him to have that boogeyman "baddest man" aura up until recently.

Who he fought isn't relevant here. He had the same aura as Beterbiev, "you fight him you might end up on your back."

Is he a great fighter? No. Did he have a fear factor surrounding him? Yes. Anyone objective can see that even if you don't like him, and I don't at all. I hate that he was the standard bearer for American HW's.

NASA was about to scrap the launch, but in walked Charlie Z. he began wrapping his hands. hands that were leathered from countless battles. he spoke to the room, "i got this." after wrapping was done, he confidently walked to the launch pad. touched the side of the rocket. feeling the coldness of the steel and compared it to the coldness of his heart. with a deep breath Charlie got into a boxing stance and upper cut the rocket into space.

Since 2014, you put opponents in the ring with them and damage occurs throughout the rounds until eventually the fight is stopped.

 

Dont forget he save Wilder whole career when they meet. He show merci and not KO this bum...

If we are talking about the toughest, baddest boxers, why wouldn't level of opponent matter? Facing a bunch of lower level opponents who don't carry the talents of the elites or even close to it, scaring them means next to nothing. Only fanboys like yourself feel he was the most dangerous man on the planet because the media marketed him as such. Those who actually watch the sport knew it was a matter of time before he faced legit competition and he would be forced to deal with someone more skilled and has power as well.

Wilder has 47 professional fights and he's only faced 3 opponents who's ever won a world title and he couldn't beat 2 of them. You think because he beat up on some prize fighters, then he is the most feared............like actual PRIZE FIGHTERS who were simply paid to just get in the and be a punching bag.

He was promoted as the most dangerous man, but actual fear....there was no elite or top talented afraid of him. Actually the total opposite. Guys like Arreola, Ortiz, Parker, & Stiverne were the ones asking for the fight.

Being KO’d by Haye in an actual “Street fight” took away some of that “toughest & baddest” persona.

 

Hard to argue with this pick. He never ducked anyone and always tried to fight the best at his weight. Never needed corrupt judges, took care of business. Bad dude.

 

His aura was so fearful that only the bravest of the brave of the likes of Gerald Washington and Arthur Szpillka dare to face him.

 

Well even tho his last fight was in 2016 vs John Molina, and one can argue the baddest aspect, but Ruslan Provodnikov was a tough tough guy. Extremely durable he was in it all the way
