Louis wouldn’t have to walk them down, he can use his footwork against them like he did against Carnera and Baer. He certainly wouldn’t approach them like he did Paycheck or Conn.

Just too much evolved athleticism from the Klitschko’s for Louis to beat them. A bizarre conclusion but to each, his own.

He is the stand out of the era no doubt but measured against the stand out of an era you considered evolved fails to prove evolution.
His best win I don’t know, I don’t put too much thought into that sort of thing. Size is a plus no doubt but heavyweights trained down in weight for a reason at one time and that is its own advantage too.

What’s peculiar is that being smaller is always a disadvantage?
Being nimble, having stamina and fluidity of movement are proven to be valuable all the time in boxing but at heavyweight it’s as if the smaller fighter doesn’t have this advantage?

Billy Graham had 126 fights and was never off his feet.

There's plenty that had far more fights and were only off their feet once.......Gavilan KD 2 times in 144 bouts, LaMotta 1 KD in 106, Barney Ross 1 in 79 fights, Brown 1 in 168 fights, Basilo 1 in 79 fights, Gorilla Jones 1 in 144 fights, the list around that era is long.

These guys were also fighting on a ridiculously busy schedule a lot of the time and facing top competition on a pretty regular basis as well.

Vitali is obviously extremely durable tho.

He has more quits than KD's is valid too.

None of those guys on their extremely busy schedules fighting fellow midgets ever took a flush uppercut from Lennox Lewis or got countered while coming in by Corrie Sanders.

Yeah I can't understand the weight classes either. All these boxers killing themselves to make weights for the lowest weightclass they could possibly reach ... while they could just fight bigger guys and be nimble etc. Very strange can't work it out either.

Technically, you are correct. However, let's also have some context, since we are comparing eras. We can factually verify that a lot of those guys would be cruiser or light-heavy today.

Ross, Gavilan and Basilo were welterweights. Jones and Lamotta were middleweights, Brown a bantamweight.

They'd be draining and fighting at lighter divisions today going by all the claims i see on the forum.

Perhaps you are getting mixed up with Romero and myself.....or thought they were all heavyweights LOL

Sorry dude I was tossing you a bone.

    But ok, YDKSAB.

    LaMotta wasn't a heavyweight, genius.

    Stick to the subject.

    Sure you were.

Sorry to interrupt your continuous scheduled programing of salivating over muscular white European boxers and your very own...........Corrie Sanders of course!!!!!!

    Adios.

Absolutely. Take Conn for example. Conn literally weighed in under the Light-Heavyweight limit, was leading on points late, and even had the Brown Bomber on spaghetti legs for a minute there in the 12th. Surely Conn could have done the same vs. these modern bums like Wlad, Vitali, and Lewis. You just have to ignore the 5" height advantage, 10" reach advantage, and 70 lb. weight advantage guys like Wlad would have had over Conn. Conn would have had EXACTLY the same success in the 1990s & 2000s Heavyweight division as he did back in the day, if not more.
