I never scored it but i see a lot of 115-112 scores for Canelo and this feels about right, could have been a touch wider. Obviously Canelo won the last round and if he didn't such a score converts to 114-113 which is a smidgeon too for me. Competitive fight tho.

A draw here would be a genuinely bad card, imo.

Munguia was the definition of ineffective aggression tonight, imo. Overwhelming majority of his swarms were either blocked or dodged. The fraction that landed had next to no effect whatsoever.

Canelo landed the cleaner, more effective punches over the course of the fight, stunning Jaime in multiple rounds, and outside of sporadic desperate bursts of mostly ineffective combos by Munguia, controlled much of the action.

He was an effective matador tonight.

A close card wouldn't bug me, but there's no way Canelo did not win that fight when factoring in the KD.

    Imo.

My friend that was rooting for Jaime didn't even think he won.

Jaime himself, doesn't even think he won lol.

I can see controversy here over the width of the card, but not the actual outcome.

Not when you are feasting on bums like Canelos early career. It’s no different.

Yeah man you'd have to be pretty delusional to score this anything other than a clear Clenelo UD.

Canelo was certainly the overall winner for me but it was far closer than the commentary made it out to be. There were at least 4 rounds that could have been scored either way and while I personally wouldnt have scored it a draw, I wouldnt have been too upset to see one. I can see how you could get to that and wouldnt call a draw a robbery here

GGG and Canelo both fought their fair share of "bums" early in their career, the difference is one of them was a teenager learning the trade. the other one was a full grown adult with amateur experience. Let's not go there.

    Interesting.

Ya hard disagree from me... that wouldnt be a draw even without the KD. Canelo was the clearly superior fighter in almost every conceivable metric other than activity. Did more damage, took less damage, landed the more effective punches, controlled the action more often than not, scored a knockdown.

Practically the only area Jaime edged Canelo in after the first round or two was, throwing more punches to Canelos guard.

Maybe in the amatures this would have been a closer fight, but as far as pro boxing goes, wasn't really close imo.

But that's boxing I guess... there will always be a wide wide range of scores for every big fight. Not sure any sport suffers from subjectivity as much as ours.

I actually hate that about this sport.

    Anyways, cheers.
