I just hope that Kostya is making this about TIm and not himself. I love Kostya but he hasn't really been involved up until now and I find myself asking why this sudden change of heart?

That said, if Kostya brings his experience and intricate understanding of what TIm needs to do then it will be a good thing.

It's not going to help him from getting his faced caved in by Vergil.

I have a feeling Kostya wasn't happy with how Tim's team handled the Fundora fight. The handling of the cut and late replacement for Thurman. I think that is maybe why they have brought Kostya into camp.

Tim's arrived at the pointy end of the sport & you don't stay there long by losing.

Kostya would have always had input into Tim's career but the timing appears right for some hands-on involvement.

It's probably got something to do with Tim's team/corner shitting the bed in the Fundora contest by not stopping it prior to the end of the 4th round due to the accidental elbow, What a blunder that was, he'd have two belts and the boxing world at his feet if it was stopped prior to the 4th.

Due to the blunder, he's got no belts and is now taking an extremely risky fight, a harder fight than Fundora was.

Hopefully the experienced old boy is overseeing things and ensuring no stones are un-turned.

Makes sense tsyu is a legendary fighter and can surely improve stuff as long as he's not pulling a eubank.

Kostya has climbed aboard after Tim first loss not his greatest win.

Kostya has valuable experience fighting the Mexican style in the US. Those Eurasian genetics with his Russian bear strength, Korean tiger fangs and claws with some culturally appropriated Aussie kangaroo feistiness added to the mix all combined to make a very formidable combination.

Sure, Ricardo Hatton had a Mexican style but he was British and Kostya was on the way out and his body all banged up by that point.

Not too mention the fight with Hatton was way past the old man's bedtime.

Yeah, it was a combination of age and wear and tear after an extremely extensive amateur career fighting at the elite level, inactivity, and injury (a brace of career-threatening ones), and surgeries to repair them. And in addition to that Hatton fought like a man possessed that night.
