When you have two big punchers in the ring and one is known for having a glass chin the other is known for having a granite chin. Then who do you think logically would win a shoot out ? Tua by KO early.
Glass or not tall guys sometimes gave tua problems..Rahman not nearly the fighter morrison was gave tua all he could handle for 12 rounds until a lucky punch..
I don't want to quote you to quote ie. "corrected" you, but because the quote will help me write what I want. Wasn't the exact same situation in the fight Morrison Vs. Foreman, and Morrison won? Miracles do happen, or Morrison boxed the "fight of a lifetime"? In any case, I too would have decided that Tua would win by knockout.
Well I dunno Rahman beat Lewis and Sanders and had 41 stoppages I wouldn't say Morrison is vastly superior to him. Rahman had a good jab and kept it at range vs Tua he didn't engage Tua in a shoot out.
Because Morrison is noted for having a glass chin ? And likes to slug it out ? The real question is why wouldn't Tua logically be favoured in this fight ? When hes also a puncher with a much sturdier chin than Morrison ? Let's look at Tua's losses in his prime..... Chris Byrd a tricky Southpaw noted for being one of the best defensive Heavyweights of the modern era. Lennox Lewis a 6'5 ATG Heavyweight who kept Tua at range all night with with his ATG jab. Ike Ibeabuchi despite his short career is considered one of the best talented Heavyweights of the modern era. At the time he broke Compubox record for throwing the most punches ever thrown in a Heavyweight fight and also had a solid chin and still barely won. Morrison doesn't have any attributes of any of the Heavyweights above.
Tua had faster feet and hands than old man Foreman.................couldn't box worth a damn but in short bursts, he could close the distance very quick and then unload. Tommy got destroyed in this exact manner before. No way he survives 6 left hooks and five overhand rights in quick succession from Tua if he's on the ropes. Rahman was known for his athleticism and physical strength, had probably a top 20 HW jab which even other HW's historically acknowledged, he also peaked and was on the world stage as a presence for far longer than Tommy, but he wasn't "nearly the fighter Tommy was"? Tommy, and we can see this from his past hiccups would've been destroyed by Tua, fairly early likely.
Seriously. I wonder how many fights Morrison won that are better than Rahman, Ruiz, or Moorer. And how many fights did Tua get stopped in one round by a Michael Bentt type opponent
This is how I see it also. Too bad Tua did not become Champion ever because he should have if guys like Ruiz and Valuev won the title.
