Just as most predicted Tank would wait for Loma to be in his late 30’s before fighting him.

Everyone’s been talking about this since 2017. A lot of people have been asking for this fight for years while Tank kept ducking Loma. I don’t know why Tank is all of a sudden interested in a Loma fight now that Loma is 36.

 

I'd be pleasantly surprised if Tank fought Loma after Frank Martin.

If they did fight, however, Lomachenko would be a very live dog. In fact, if Tank doesn't stop him, which is certainly a possibility, I can easily envision a scenario in which Loma outboxes him over 12 (whether the judges give him the nod is another matter entirely)

As I've noted for years, Tank---while certainly hard hitting and more refined in his approach than many are willing to acknowledge---lacks the length and physical dimensions that have troubled the Ukrainian in the past. It's 50-50 fight for me.

Five years ago, I'd have picked Loma without reservation.

 

Lomachenko still beats him, but if the fight doesn’t happen within a year or so, I’d favour Davis, Lomachenko’s younger than Donaire when he fought Inoue for the first time and is less shopworn than he was, and has a better style for longevity, he’s definitely still got enough left, but the fight needs to happen within a year at the most.
