Has Inoue faced anyone as good as Teofimo Lopez considering the size disadvantage? I dont think he has.
While multi-talented and somewhat unfortunate there is an unhealthy trend - as there is with Golovkin - to pardon the shortcomings in Lomachenko's career. No amount of whinging over turning pro late, Salido's low blows, or Haney's gross rehydrating can erase the fact he made poor tactical decisions in key fights. Starting too late against Lopez and letting that last round go against Haney has complicated his place in history. He later said something to effect of knowing he had to do more, to put it beyond doubt, but didn't. This is the difference between skill and ring IQ. Inoue's dominance has the problem of making his opponents look worse than they are. You've got a good bunch of guys there with different styles from Narvaez, to Donaire, to Fulton, and Nery. He may, once he goes to 126, encounter similar problems that Loma did at 135, though I can't - even if it comes in a fight in which he's goes onto lose - see him making silly decisions. His biggest flaw right now is cockiness. The harder the opponents the more 'locked in' he'll be. I appreciate Loma is the smaller guy at 135 but you only get so many brownie points. If Inoue's not ahead of him already he's damn near shoulder-to-shoulder.
Best loma's name is a 37 year old Rigo, who was forced to go up 2 whole weights in order to get the fight. 2 freaking whole weights, at 37yo. Comparing Loma with Inoue is beyond stupid. Inoue is in his own league right now, I have a really hard time remembering last time I saw something similar, whereas Loma is... a good fighter.
The Loma haters and my fellow Inoue fans always have to do it. Always have to be disrespectful and nasty about Loma instead of at least attempting to be fair. Well, two can play that game and trust me I can play it as good as anyone out there. In fact, better I think, and if I put my mind to it I could not only turn social media against this Japanese hype job who has been campaigning in graveyard divisions full of featherfisted leprechauns with all the talent and depth of the women's HW division, I could turn all of Japan against him I can go from Inoue fanboy (and, as said, Inoue is my third favourite active fighter and one of my top 10 favs ever, albeit #9 or #10) to the biggest hater in the blink of an eye and you ain't gonna like the dish I serve up one bit.
Inoue vs Loma is comparing what you think someone can do vs what they’ve actually done. Also Inoue gets a lot of hate for not fighting in the US but people need to understand boxing is a world level sport not an American one.
36 ? Which is the age of Inoue's best win in Donaire who had already lost numerous times ? Also Rigondeuax was undefeated and P4P top 10 ? So since Inoue hasn't even beaten a top 10 P4P fighter it seems baffling to leave Rigondeuax off of Lomachenko's best win column.
You guys need to stop making excuses for Loma's bad career decisions. He started late, who made that choice? He's fighting at weight way above his natural Weight. Who made that choice? He takes on his biggest, most dangerous opponent with a bad arm. Who made that choice? I see a trend with Loma. As great as he is, and he is just that, he makes stupid career choices.
Loma is exactly why the mythical “eye test” is flawed. He looks like the greatest fighter of all time but his record, whilst excellent is not even close to ATG status, he's more deserving of modern great status but falls just short of a few others. He’s a wonderful fighter, of this there is no question but his biggest fans continue to ask us to all imagine what he could have done under different circumstances rather than what he has actually done in real life. I love him but the flaws in his career (and resume) are as clear as day. Inoue on the other hand just doesn’t have the same big question marks over him in my opinion.
Problem is if I do that I'm using my skills and putting information and arguments out there that will be seized upon by the Inoue haters and used to discredit him all over social media for years to come and it's going to make life difficult for my fellow Inoue fans some of whom love nothing more than tearing down Loma and hating on him for no goddamn reason. You wanna start slinging poop over the fence for no reason, well I'll not only sling it right back over at you with interest, I'll even sling it at myself and fighters I love who are lower down in my favourite rankings if the poop slingers just so happen to be fans of that fighter too
