Genetics, diet and stress levels dictate how quickly we age

As a kid playing sports of around 14; two of my buddies of the same age looked like full grown men of 30. Big, muscled, beards etc. Now we are all 40 and they look 60

I'm from a family who for whatever reason stay reasonably young looking until we hit our 60's. I'm 40, could pass for 30, and I will still be physically fitter and more active at 60 barring an accident of some nature, than many 20 year olds will ever be; because they are obese McDonalds eating slugs with potato starch for genetics

Prolonged use of PEDs makes people prone to joint injuries. Beterbiev was on Russian Olympic team - likely juiced to the gills. He is paying the price now.

Yes and there lies the proof of how corrupt boxing is today.Margarito has never proven to have done anything wrong. What started as a Naz Richardson usual claim about opponents wraps. His ludicrous statement about PLASTER BLOCKS, lol that NO ONE ELSE SAW, exploded into claims of loaded gloves aided & abetted by further lies. till the CSAC themselves took the ludicrous stand of banning Antonio from boxing in CA because they THOUGHT he MAY have tried to load his gloves but had no proof
While the NSAC praise Floyd Mayweather jr & claim "Mr Mayweather did nothing wrong we will not investigate the fact he was PROVEN to have broken 4 of the NSAC's rules regarding saline treatment before fighting Pacquaio when caught red handed in his own home 24 hours before the Pacquaio fight."
There you have it in black & white One State commission bans an innocent man & takes away his license to box in Ca, ruins his career & tarnishes his good name because they "SUSPECT he did something wrong" Another state commission makes themselves look as crooked as they could ever be by claiming a fighter that broke 4 or their own rules when caught in his own home BLATANTLY cheating with illegal saline treatment "Did nothing wrong!!!!!!!!!! No wonder boxing is called WWE II these days ITS CORRUPT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
All Antonio ever did wrong was legitimately beat the bejabbers out of Miguel Cotto spsetting the Mayweather & DelaHoya plans

All fans believe he is a cheat
Just go into any random youtube video with him and you can read for yourself

No matter what you say, his legacy is absolutely in tatters and the fans think he is cheating scum. He will never be a hall of fame fighter and will forever have this against his name

Meniscus isn’t a joint, it’s protective cartilage overlaying the bones in the knees. This injury could easily happen to anyone and has nothing to do with PEDs.

Beterbiev just has an extremely strong work ethic in the gym. He is doing insane workouts. I get peds are in question because his slightly elevated levels. those in theory can be nothing. but the way beterbiev trains at his level is for a genetic beast steroids or not. He's going way too hard on his body and it's catching up on him. one of the injuries was a tooth injury or something.

As for steroids I'm under the impression for off season almost every boxer is taking illegal stuff. I mean people will pick and choose steroids or test. elevations trace amounts based on how much they like them. Beterbiev fans strongly against Ryan Garcia. Ryan Garcia fans believe garcia but are against beterbiev elevation.

It's highly likely both have taken something.

FANS !!!! yeah Fans of Floyd, Oscar & Canelo etc NOT Boxing fans who saw through the lies & smokescreen & ones like me that were THERE when this hatchet job got started. You must be cheaters yourselves to believe a word of it.
It started when Margarito beat the daylights out of Cotto LEGALLY!!!!!!!!!! when he wasn't supposed to. That scared off Floyd & Oscar for sure lol Marg was in the way it was the fight the real fans wanted Floyd-Marg but Floyd lacked the cajones didn't he !!
I'm sure everyone has seen the videos of the meeting between Antonio & Floyd where Tony just casually walked up to ask " Why wont you fight me Floyd" ? Floyds hysterical response stuttering & blabbering showed he was literally TERRIFIED !!!!! If any boxer was proven to be all smoke & mirrors but had no real courage that was Floyd that day
Antonio proved he was Floyd's Daddy lol Antonio OWNED Floyd !!!!

    According to Marc Ramsay:

    https://ici.radio-canada.ca/sports/...-ramsay?utm_source=dlvr.it&utm_medium=twitter

Trainer Marc Ramsay and his protégé Artur Beterbiev (20-0, 20 KOs), WBC, WBO and IBF light heavyweight champion, were faced with the evidence that a long break was necessary to heal a worn knee.

Less than a month before the unification fight which was to oppose him to the Russian Dmitrii Bivol (22-0, 11 KOs) , holder of the WBA and IBO belts, an imaging test magnetic resonance analysis carried out last week revealed the beginnings of a tear in the meniscus of the left knee.

We noticed something was wrong about three weeks ago. We were careful not to aggravate the situation, but last week, the inflammation had become too important to continue , Ramsay told Radio-Canada Sports at his gym.

Beterbiev, 39, is scheduled for surgery on Tuesday or Wednesday. According to the planned schedule, it should be completely inactive for a month. He would then begin a three-week period of physiotherapy.

"It is not a very complex operation. If we add eight weeks for a new training camp, that brings us to the end of September or the beginning of October for a date for the resumption of the fight" , suggested Ramsay, who did not hide his disappointment at this new postponement

"Of course I'm disappointed. Artur was even skeptical about the idea of having to postpone the fight. He wanted to continue, but he had no choice but to listen to the doctor."

Is age catching up with Artur Beterbiev? "Yes and no" Ramsay said.

"We all get older. But boxing is very physically demanding. He lifts heavy weights in training. We are therefore talking about a normal wear and tear injury linked to the repetition of movements rather than to the age of the individual."

Sounds like it was the beginning of a tear in the meniscus and not a complete tear or a ruptured meniscus as initially though

Looks like we can have the fight in Q4 maybe.

That's much more encouraging news for Artur and the chances of the fight happening in 2024!

It looks like the MRI showed it was the beginning of a tear.

I am guessing he has swelling on the knees, managed to train through it and then couldn't rotate proper to generate power and had to go to the doctors to have a proper examination which revealed the beginning of an issue.

A full on torn or ruptured meniscus would have caused agony for him so it looks like they caught it before it got significantly worse.

I remember in 2022 he had similar issues before the Yarde fight and has to go to Russia to get it "cleaned up" - remove the tissue that was causing issues and not allowing for contraction and rotation at the apex point of the knee.
