Do you consider Usyk to be Fury's toughest test?

Over 3 fights he lost every round he didn't drop Fury in...................

 

He was a tough test for Fury because Fury isn't very good.

 

I,d say no. Usyk undoubtedly the best boxer furys faced....but hes a lot smaller with a good bit shorter reach and weight without power in a division where these things matter. Usyks whole gameplan is around tiring you out by stalking you. I reckon that becomes less effective the more the opponent outsizes you and outweighs you. Usyks so good that he might actually still do it effectively but its a big ask even for him.

This fight to me is about usyk daring to be great bearing in mind hes giving away so many naatura advantages. In furys case its about consolodating that his cv and his career is legitimate. That hes as good as a lot of people view him as up to this point.

In fairness to both.....at 35 and 36 years old neither might come true if one of them turns out to be finished or on the downward slope.

I still say klitchko and wilder we,re bigger tests. Say what you like about wilder. One punch was good enough. Always a nightmare opponent that. Although tbf hes never really had his cv or career legitimised. Probably wont ever either.

 

Who you got winning?

 

I do see Usyk as potentially being Fury's toughest ever test. If Tyson beats Oleksandr then,in my mind,he could be the best heavy since Lennox Lewis. A 50/50 bout though.

 

usyk. ive never seen much in fury. his success has been more a result of weak competition rather than real skill from him. hes sloppy, lacks technique, and lacks heart. thats why hes only fought wilder, who sucks, in the last decade. he knows how to bull****, though.
i could be wrong, cause i once said usyk was too small to beat the best heavys. and well, he did. never thought he wasnt good, just didnt think he had the size. but if you understand what youre looking at when you see both do what they do, its obvious to me that usyk is just a better more complete fighter...by quite a margin.

 

Wilder scored more points in the 1st fight than Fury I don't think this is true.

 

Where does that leave Usyk if Fury beats him then?

 

Usyk for sure brings the best resume that Fury has faced. It’s very telling that Fury did not want to fight him, hoping that Joshua, and then DuBois, would beat him. Fury avoided him for the past two years, with excuses and bogus purse splits. The Ngannou fight backed Fury into a corner where he had to redeem hisself, and then finally agreed to fight him, getting into the best shape of his life, which underscores the fact that Fury clearly believes Usyk is his toughest challenge to date.

 

I disagree with that.
People are giving Fury credits for stuffs he hasn't done.
Both in Klitschko and Wilder 1 fight.

I have score only the first bout. The others are meaningless, as they ended with a KO.

Still in the first fight, just like in Klitschko fight. Fury misses awful a lot. His fans(not mentioning you, as you are not one of them), always forget that part. He misses most of his shots, and in most round he has done absolutely nothing, but throw and miss 2-3 patty arm jabs.

You are not winning rounds for just clowning around the ring.
In Wilder 1, he lost quite some round in my book, for doing nothing, landing nothing, and Wilder actually won some of this rounds for being more aggressive and just throw and partially land punches.

In a round where 1 guy throws 10 punches, and land 2 partially punches, and there is another 1 where he throws 5 patty arm jab and just clowning around, to who you are going to score that round?

It's good that people see in Wilder 1 that Wilder misses so much, but it was the same for Fury.

Wilder 1 fight is majorily scored for Fury, based on no one gives him a chance to win that fight, nothing else.
And as often the underdog is being praised for a lot of things he didn't do.

 

It would drop Usyk quite a few place in my estimation obviously.

 

I actually agree with you on a number of points and I've said some of these same things, notably about his dominant snoozefest against Wlad. End of the day I thought Fury more so made fight 1 against Wilder more of what he wanted than Wilder, this is why I gave him 10 rounds. Fury wanted the fight like that, Wilder couldn't do anything about it except in 2 rounds, and round 12 Fury came as close as you can regarding evening the round back up after a KD. Fight 2 he won absolutely no rounds, fight 3 again other than the KD's I don't think he personally won a round (I can rationalize round one coming out with that heavy jab but that disappeared immediately). I don't personally score for the underdog, I try to objectively look at what's in front of me.

 

Fury is barely taller than AJ

But a better boxer yes.
However I would not consider that Usyk is less dangerous for Fury than let's say Chisora, only because he punch lighter. Every professional boxer can hurt you
