Got it. I'm sure you saw the documentary on him. It spoke about Sonny having a yoke placed on him and he had to plow like he was a mule. So, I understand your point.
Liston around the same level as Whyte ? Shavers ? Chisora ? Briggs ? you can't be serious.....surely you're trolling right ? Have you ever watched Liston fight ? or know anything about his resume ? Either you're not very knowledgeable on Liston or this is a troll post.
To answer your question resume wise i would have Liston just outside the top 10 but H2H wise i would have him in the top 10. I think Liston matches up well with most Heavyweights past and present i'd make him even money with fighters like Larry Holmes.
That info is wrong, they needed a date for sonnys official boxing documents but sonny didnt know what year he was born so he put 1930. Its learned in “the real story behind the ali liston fights” by paul gallander he was likely born 17-19
He was a power puncher but not much of a boxer so far as skills are concerned. No way can he be remotely considered in the top twenty for his boxing skills.
Here is what Emanuel Steward had to say about Sonny. (Should be time stamped - if not, it starts at 37:59) This content is protected
