A joke that's not in the least funny Canelo IS THE JOKE!! Parading around in a crown calling himself The King of Boxing!! that NO ONE can beat THEN!! He slipped up & underestimated Dmitry Bivol & got his ass handed to him. Dmitry beat him like a drum totally embarrassed him As Jose & Vitor said He got what he deserved

Yeah this is where I am at with this fight if it happens. I won't doubt Crawford again. Regardless of whatever the heck was going on with Spence, Crawford destroyed that boy. This is a perfect final fight for Crawford imo but agree that other than Canelo getting paid, he can't "win" this fight in the eyes of fans no matter the outcome.

I think Crawford can beat him as Canelo hasn't fared well against slicker, fast fighters and he isn't as good as when he fought Lara, Trout, etc. Crawford doesn't have to weigh 168, he can come in at 161 and keep all his speed. Knocking Canelo out is a big task though.

According to the WBC Benavidez became the official mandatory when he beat Plant I'm March 2023. Being the interim doesn't mean you are the mandatory. The WBC gives the champion 12 months before the mandatory can activate his mandatory status. Benavidez was one week away from being able to activate it. Instead at the advise of Al Haymon he decides to leave 168, forfeiting his position at 168. If you look at the official ranking Benavidez has been removed.

I personally do not rate Benavidez very high. He's a LHW possibly a cruiserweight fighting at 168. My guess is he won't be at 175 very long either, especially if he has a difficult time with Gvozdyk. Benavidez already said he will definitely fight at Cruiserweight after 175.

With all that said, if Benavidez truly wanted to fight Canelo, why didn't he enforce his mandatory status. No one ever wants to answer that question.

Had he waited one more week into March, Benavidez would have been in the same position Yildirim, Ryder, Scull, and Berlanga were, are and are going to be. At that point the WBC would require Canelo to fight him, or strip him, unless Canelo vacated, which would then be a bad look.

So if we are going to use the rules regarding mandatory status to criticize Canelo, then we have yo be honest and apply the rules period, and according to the rules Benavidez forfeited his mandatory status by not wanting to cut down to 168 anymore and moving to 175. We can't hold Canelo accountable for not wanting to fight a LHW who in Canelo's view has been disrespectful about fighting when Canelo was not being disrespectful.

Benavidez kept saying since 2021 that Canelo would not fight him because he was afraid of him, so Canelo knowing Benavidez isn't **** in historical terms and knows he doesn't need him gave him a big F.U. okay, then I guess I'm afraid of you and I'll never give you the peydey.

The WBC be switching stuff, everybody knows the Interim champion is considered the mandatory to the full champion. That "mandatory" fight with Plant was for DB's interim title he won against Lemiuex.

I am one of Crawfords biggest fans but this is a money grab. Canelo is way too big for Crawford. People think this is a better fight than Canelo/Munguia? Seriously? This fight is going to attract a lot of casuals and then let them all down when they realize that Crawford is in too deep with a man too big for him to be fighting. What's next? Inoue vs Tank? Boxing fans are stupid.

Well how is that Canelo's fault.

And again, why did Benavidez run to 175 one week before he had the legal right to enforce his mandatory status?

The more I think about it the more I think DB is just using Canelo's name for popularity. He's gained 200K followers since he started doubling down on calling Canelo out.

I think Benevidez moved up to stay active, and if he can't get Canelo to fight him now, why not move up and make a statement against his friend and sparring partner Gvozdyk? That's a tough fight but if DB has a breakout performance, canelo will have no choice but to fight him imo. And I think that might be what it takes for Canelo to finally fight him.

I can see Canelo saying something like this in English, just saying mother****er at the end. Lol

Although Crawford isn't as tall, he is one of the few boxers that can use his jab and footwork like Bivol did. But, that is a big jump for TC. He is one of my favorite fighters, hope nothing bad or serious happens to him. Also hope that he whoops Canelo.

Now here's another thought. Benavidez left 168 after spending 11 years there, 7 of which he was champion material, and his best win is Plant. He fought no one there.

I doubt he fights anyone at 175.

I'll believe it when I see it, but I think Bud will not be simply overpowered. Canelo should probably be favored, but if he's not still mostly in his prime, he could take a beating the likes of which he hasn't experienced.

Who did GGG really fight when the world was clamoring for that fight? How about Lara? What did Khan do to earn that fight? Canelo fought those guys and guys like Charlo who nobody asked for and now might have to fight Crawford who has never even fought above 147 pounds yet. Those guys are getting their oppurtunity and DB should to.

Seems like a crazy fight to make on paper, but people said the same when Pacquiao moved up to fight De La Hoya and we all saw how that turned out.

Now Canelo isn't done like Oscar was and Crawford isn't Pac and no doubt money is a factor for Bud, but I also think Crawford thinks he can beat Canelo, he won't be moving up to just timidly surrender by doing nothing for 12 rounds like Jermell did.

Style wise I think Crawford is horrible for Canelo, taller, longer counter puncher who controls distance and uses plenty of movement. This will not be an easy fight for Canelo. While it maybe a mismatch on paper I actually think this is a fight that Bud can win.

    Lara?
Not to derail your little argument, but LARA? I still can´t believe that people think Golovkin ducked Lara.
That PR run Lara had really paid off, it seems.
