There's nothing controversial at all about a young unbeaten power puncher in the weight above being someone's toughest fight.

    It's just completely none controversial.

    I think it was weight.

Most people in the thread don't find your opinion even slightly controversial.

You take any boxer in the world right now above the age of 35 and move them up to a new division to face a prime unbeaten power puncher and it will most likely be their toughest fight.

The controversial opinion would be the converse, that the fight won't be a challenge at all.

But Crawfords performance against Spence is being used as a measuring stick which i.find unfair

Right before the sequence where Spence fell into the ropes, Ugas hurt Spence BADLY with a mere arm punch. Go back and rewatch it cause it was honestly ridiculous, Spence was on jelly legs over a tap from Ugas who is a featherfist. Then right after he gets rocked badly again and falls into the ropes. Also Barrios beat Ugas up straight after so it’s not exactly like the win is aging anything but terribly

Go to 26:19 and see Spence’s legs turn to jelly over an arm punch from a featherfist. Clear evidence of him being fragile post car crashes

You're only as good as your last fight.

He heard the ref yell stop so he turned around to pick up his mouth piece and got clipped with a punch he didn't see. Besides that he easily won

I’m not talking about when he fell into the ropes, I’m talking about a sequence right before it. Watch from 26:15

Spence hasn't been the same since the car crash.
1 fight i remember Crawford looking as good as he did vs Spence was the Postol fight, a long time a weight class ago.
Stepping up vs a good opponent is risky for sure

Madrimov is pretty good so this might be true ... until he fights Canelo.

Ugas legitimately hurt Spence, and for no reason, let him off the hook.

Ugas looked like a punching bag that night, showed no urgency at all throughout. I suspect Al Haymon or someone had a word with him beforehand, because that was not someone who looked like he wanted to win

Spence won, he is still a world class fighter, and has moved up to 154. The excuses are getting old
