I think Usyk might have come in heavy because he realizes how stacked the deck is against him what with the open cheerleading for Belly from His Excellency and the conflict of interest he has what with him being business partners and friends with Belly's promoter. Usyk feels he has to go for the KO but coming in over 10lbs heavier is just madness. He looks in good shape but how is it going to affect his speed and stamina?
People are really naive, Usyk and his team know what they are doing, they will be monitoring is records in the gym, that will be strength and conditioning, if he can carry the extra weight and still exceed his records in the gym then it's all good.
Thought both would be lighter. Maybe Fury can't get below 260 any more, but he looked in shape by his standards. He didn't look much over 250 for me so I was very surprised when they I read out the weight. As I was for Usyk. 232... Seems like a risky plan. He's never going to outwrestle Fury. Movement and angles are his strengths.
Usyk is a consummate professional and knows what he is doing; if he and his team think coming in heavy is the right thing to do then I would trust them.
Lol people thinking Usyk has lost the plot coming in at 233. The guy is the most disciplined athlete in the division, it's not as if he's carrying takeaways, he'll be fine.
Yeah, that seems reasonable. If he retains most of his speed and stamina at that weight, he will be tremendous. We'll see.
