Respectfully I would disagree Julio Chave Snr was prone to frustration and getting a bit trigger happy with the right hand if it wasn’t going his way or he was rushing. My two cents.

I can see that in the latter days, the DK promoted version. The Chavez of mid-80's to Whitaker was crazy calculating and determined in his game plan. Occasionally, the openings would come soon (a la Mayweather) and he would capitalize but he always started with the game plan and stuck it through all kinds of fire.

That's why he's one of my faves. Cold, calculating destruction with a stone face.

Any good Monzon recommendations to show how great he is? I've seen Hagler's career set over 10 times but only one Monzon fight

Though I haven’t watched all of Monzon’s fights, I’ll give my opinion.
    Monzon vs Briscoe 2.
Controlled the whole fight and even when he was in serious trouble, he weathered the storm and worked his magic again. Good watch.

Monzon vs Napoles and Griffith 1 are my personal faves. The Bouttier fights are pretty decent too. Monzon's a bit of an acquired taste though, some people love him and think he's possibly the greatest MW to have walked the Earth while others think he's a crude and awkward clubber. Some people see it, some people don't but the more you watch the better sense you get of how great he was. Start with Napoles though, that's his greatest performance imo.

Take a look at the Carlos Monzon vs Emile Griffith title bout from Sept 25 1971, Monzon stopped Griffith by TKO 14 and Monzon vs Briscoe from Nov 11 1972, Monzon's style may have not been pretty but it sure was effective, Monzon retired as champion in August 1977, how many champions accomplished that feat?
