There was a school of thought for years that modern day heavyweights are too big and Ali wouldn’t have beat the likes of Fury in this era. Well Usyk showed that’s not the case at all clearly!

I don't think Ali would have, despite being a much better boxer.
Ali's style didn't really fair well against bigger reaches.

Ali would adapt to what’s required of him and get it done.

Usyk would have been a giant by old school standarts. He is much more muscular on top his specific style did literally not exist back then. To say that his win validates that ali could have beaten fury is crazy

This is the most important point to come out of all of this. Jack Dempsey. Joe Louis. Ali. George. These guys can compete if not thrive in any era. Just took that one outstanding average-sized heavy to sway the argument.

You people always ignore Steve Cunningham. Fury isn't invincible to smaller faster fighters

This is a very stupid argument.

Had Usyk lost you Ali fanboys would not have admitted Ali's fallibility. So why should Usyk's win be used to bolster Ali's credentials?

Usyk spent most of the fight pressuring Fury on the frontfoot, not something Ali did.

Ali and Usyk are the same height, reach and weight so dimensions wise there’s no difference

The key is speed and power if Usyk can land on Fury you can bet Ali would with his lightning fast hands and again if Usyk can have Fury out on his feet Ali could as well he had just as much pop in his shots

Also Fury controlled the mid rounds fairly comfortably but I can’t see Ali allowing the same to happen people forget Muhammad could fight at a fast pace for 12 rounds or tough it out and grind out a win

Every time Usyk breathes people use him as an example of old school Heavyweights being able to dominate, despite the fact that Usyk is bigger than every single one of them, blows them all away from a skills standpoint and is a massive anomaly lol.

Ali matches up horribly vs Fury. Probably beats everyone else in the division with relative ease though imo.

not to mention, that literally no old school fighter fights like him. This eastern soviet style was refined in the late 80s and 90s. It is such a bizarre argument
