Fury doesn't usually hold a high guard and was moving away from the punches. So even though I was expecting a stoppage I could see why the ref didn't do it. For the first undisputed in 25 years you have to give both men the absolute benefit of the doubt before waving it off.

Because he knew the bell was about to ring and it could have helped Fury to recover.

Yup. Ref was on point. Called the knockdown correctly too.

I think it was a good call. Imagine the controversy if the ref had stopped it instead there, or a couple seconds after. Sure, Usyk might have sparked Fury out. But don't understand Fury s recovery. It's imo his second greatest ability. So, I doubt Usyk would have Koed him there, and ultimately, the KD helped him get the win

He doesn’t have to go down; he was held up by the ropes, which makes it a knockdown.

True, should have called the KD immediately since he did eventually call the KD because of this reason.

Source does not mean link. Nor does sourcing mean a link.
Had I sourced the rule from a book, I would be unable to provide you a link. I would have provided you with the title of the book.

Should have stopped it. Fury was out. The ref saved him some time by jumping between them prior to doing it again for the count and usyk pulled his punches thinking the ref was about to stop it.

At 36 years old regardless if hes the favoured man or not. With a rematch clause inserted....you need to be stopping that fight. This favouritism thing is going to get someone hurt one day.

In fairness to the ref it turned out well due to furys incredible recuperative powers. But their incredible until one day their not.

Thats why you cant really mess about with it. He had to intervene prior to intervening for the count. When that starts happening its time to stop it

Wlad K himself said on DAZN after the fight the ref made the right decision as he was, proved by the 3 following rounds, able to continue. This was the Undisputed Heavy Title Fight ffs. If there's anytime we want to see fighters given the benefit of doubt it's here.

Because the referee was trying to save Fury instead of being impartial.

The slow ten count, started late, and then when it finished, the referee waited a few more seconds before moving out of the way and the bell sounded.

Its meant to be deemed a KD if the ropes hold them up, tbh though if it wasn't deemed a KD Usyk was teeing up on the unprotected Fury to finish it which he would have so getting deemed a KD saved him.

 "The rules state that the fight should have been stopped"
*Refuses to even quote any such rule.
