fury dont belong in the conversation about the elites. hes not one of em. different levels. and yes, any hw great from the past either washes out the division or isolates the 2 or 3 that can fight some.

Big 6'6+ heavyweights have always existed in the heavyweights going back to Big Bill Tate and Jess Willard up to Lionel Washington and Julius Long and Anthony Joshua and Tyson Fury today. They're not new. They've always been around in every single era. What do they all have in common? Little guys have always beat them up. I guess history does repeat.

He successfully attacked off the front foot and went to the body vs Bugner who is probably the closest style comparison to Fury that he fought.

Nobody even mentions how much FASTER Ali was then Fury? Ali's footwork in his prime was much faster then Furys.

Ali’s footwork was way too fast he could literally dance around the ring for 12 rounds and school Fury doesn’t have to fight like Usyk style

How is he going to do that against a taller opponent with a larger reach who's forcing him to come forward?

Lennox gives Ali a methodical beatdown. Deal with it.

Outside of Wlad he has no one else on his resume of elite quality. I think we all agree by now Wilder is crap.

I made a thread about Uysk vs Frazier years ago and had guys burying me for making that match up as competitive.

Force him to come forward? Very easy then just step in bang bang and then step out. Ali explained in his entertainment with an audience talk in 1974 that’s how young Ali would beat 70s Ali so his mindset to a back foot fighter would be similar in and out with lateral movement Fury schooled

Right but Tyson Fury isn't a modern day giant lol. Tyson Fury is 6'7 at best. Ali beat guys like Ernie Terrell who was 6'6. Guys like George Foreman beat guys like Jack O"Halloran who was 6'6 240 pounds of muscle and guys like the 6'7 250 pound Bobo Renfrow when Foreman was a amatuer.

As I said and I will say again. The moment a person acts like heavyweights are bigger now they were back in the 70's through early 2000's you know that person is a casual who repeats whatever ESPN tells them or goofy guys on YouTube making videos tell them. These are the same people who run around and use terms like "Eye Test" because EPSN says it.
