Complete hypothetical, I know, but how do you see a Fury-AJ fight now

I wouldn’t write him off against Joshua. The Watford robot will still struggle with his movement and speed, I doubt he will land that much. Still Fury on points for me.

Exactly, Joshua looks amazing and way more destructive than Fury against static targets. Furys feints would give Joshua fits, it's no coincidence of these last 4 wins the least convincing he looked was against a guy who showed basic foot and head movement.

Let's also not forget he was getting booed against Helinius as he couldn't handle simple off centre movement. Granted he got the win KO but we are taking about an average old shot fighter on a few days notice

I just think that Fury is more hittable these days. He can be knocked down as we've seen in the past.

Maybe he has that one last hurrah inside him?

Joshua was on the slide - for probably multiple reasons - but he seems to have halted that and emotionally, seems in a better healthier place.

Whilst I think and expect Joshua to get Fury out of there, it would still remain an intriguing fight until that point (imo) arrives.

Be a shame if this fight in the current "fighting climate" doesn't ever get made.

Let’s hope it does happen and at Wembley.

Comparing their performances against Wallin and Ngannou is fair enough, but then we can now do the same with Usyk. Yes, Fury got badly hurt and was lucky to survive that round, but however you want to cut it, outside of that it was still a tough, close fight at an elite level. Whereas AJ got schooled, didn't really do any better than Chisora and had a complete mental breakdown.

Interesting responses that show it’s still a split in opinion and therefore a compelling fight.

The X factor that a lot of people are ignoring is the potential damage that Fury might take in a rematch against Usyk and then going into a fight with Joshua. If that happened, I can only see Joshua winning.

Since Joshua lost to Usyk, he’s been relatively unharmed and looked destructive with his power. Fury on the other hand has been flattened by Ngannou and punched out on his feet by Usyk. Potentially even more damage in an October rematch and he’s damaged goods in AJ’s hands.

I’d give Fury a slight edge if he fought AJ in December fresh, for example. If he rematches Usyk and then boxes AJ, he’s getting knocked out. Too much damage on his body.

Usyk landed that left hand over the top on Fury’s face quite easily when he had to cut the distance and spring into the shot. Joshua can do that from a longer distance with rapid hands.

Fury was knocked down in the third Wilder fight, against Ngannou and against Usyk. Whilst Fury would outbox Joshua, most likely he gets clipped at some point and dropped; the only question would be whether he could survive it.

It’s a 50/50 fight now, if Fury gets clipped by AJ I think it’s pretty much night night!,

If Fury does continue which I’d be surprised with, he needs to get John Fury out of camp and miles away from the fight. The only voice you could hear in corner was John Fury’s. He’s lost a lot of love from the public and the amount of nervous energy he probably burnt because the antics of John during fight week may have even cost him the fight…

Parker Usyk would be a good fight now..

It amazes me how fickle boxing fans can be. If fighter 'Random No Name' spent the last year and a half fighting Franklin, Helenius, Wallin and Ngannou you wouldn't even consider him worthy of a shot nevermind talking him up.
Let Joshua fight Hrgovic or Parker then we'll see where he's at.

Joshua fought a fighter who was much younger though and closer to his prime. Usyk is 37 now and is a fighter that relies on speed reflexes and footwork as he is at a significant size disadvantage. He’s much slower now and yet still fury was lucky to get through the round.

Fury’s best is a lot better than AJs best and had they fought when they were scheduled to and if they had of done when Fury offered AJ the fight after his second Usyk loss, then it’s an easy nights work for Fury.
Now it’s certainly not a gimme. I doubt we will ever see this fight as it wouldn’t surprise me if both Fury and Usyk retire after their rematch, whatever the result.

I personally think Joshua is what he is, simply a very good British Heavyweight who was always well short of elite level.

All four of Joshua's opponents since Usyk schooled him twice are very low risk like nearly all of his fights prior to the Usyk fights.

I don't think he has improved or even regressed anytime in his career - he will always be found out when he faces elite talent and will also have a good chance of falling when he faces a mediocre fighter like Andy Ruiz who lets his hand go.

He is what he is and that could be enough to beat the current version of Fury who is noticeably on the slide.

AJ KO or stoppage win mid rounds.

AJ too quick with combinations, packing KO power.

Fury really did look very poor and arguably should of lost to both Wallin and Ngannou who AJ made very easy work of.

Fury has only beaten one truly world level opponent in Whyte since he beat Wlad in 2015.

Did Fury break his nose in the first round last night, it was crazy how often he was wiping at it. I don’t think Usyks power troubled Fury at all last night, come 7/8 rounds Fury was done.

It does go to show just how weak this era of heavyweights is, from the opening bell a bulked up cruiser was backing up the lineal champ who was 40-50lbs heavier. If that was Mike Tyson rather than Fury then it would have been Usyk pinned to the ropes with a high guard.

    I think Fury retires now.

Didn't really see that against Holyfield.

Why can't people just respect and appreciate how good Usyk is?
