My words. Joe great fighter, but times have changed - Joe fought 199 to 215 pounders mostly, and with todays 265 pounders... I can't see it him winning against these guys.
Addendum to my comment. On the Usyk/Fury thread I poked at people for making so much about size discrepancy. After invoking it here. I stand by both comments. Usyk was not Frazier. Those who think Joe would not hurt Fury, would not touch him, are full of beans if not something more pungent and non palatable. My .02 is just that as great as Joe was, and he was exponentially greater than Fury ever will be, this particular H2H matchup is not a good one for him.
I love Joe Frazier and rank him much higher than fury from a legacy standpoint. But Joe’s type of fighting style isn’t well suited to be taking on someone who’s got 8 inches in height and 70 lbs in weight to go along with a good chin
I think Fury's height and length is more of an issue than his size. A shorter Fury that weighed the same would get kablamo'd, but a Fury that has identical dimensions and weighs less would do just as well. Hell I say it like it's a hypothetical, as if Fury isn't 30lbs overweight or so as it is lol.
In a 15 round title bout Frazier would literally walk through anything Fury has and just grind him down. I will take Joes left hook over anything any boxer Fury has met.
If you can catch up to Ali and nearly knock him out, you can without a doubt catch up to Tyson Fury and do the complete job. Fury is one of the most overrated heavyweights of the past few decades. In all seriousness, I don't think he'd be able to separate himself from someone like Joe Bugner in their prime, none the less Frazier.
Lets be fair to Fury he did defeat Francis "The Predator" Ngannou in a grueling war. And he was only knocked down once en route to a questionable points victory.
