Yes Dude is among the greats I know many on this forum think Fury is rubbish, but that was a great win for Usyk and definitely up there with the 2 wins against AJ He's among the elite for sure. I picked against him, but good luck to him I also still respect Fury,he fought well and no shame losing to a greater fighter, which usyk is
Oh he beat me to it. Don’t get me wrong I think Usyk is a great but I feel like people are ignoring that Fury lost to Ngannou in his last fight. If this was another fighter they’d be bringing it up but due to obvious reasons they won’t.
Usyk has completed the whole boxing game. Olympic Gold, World Championship Gold, European Gold, Undefeated in WSB undersized, Undisputed Cruiserweight champion, Greatest Cruiserweight Ever. Muhammed Ali WBSS trophy winner. Best Heavyweight of this Generation being undersized massively. First undisputed Heavyweight champion in 25 years. All done on the road whilst his country has been at war. He has excellent speed, stamina, boxing ability, chin, balance, heart, footwork, defence, boxing IQ Last night, Usyk dug down. Just when you thought Fury’s physicality was gonna take over, Usyk made the adjustments and turned it up another notch. Usyk always finds that extra gear, when he needs it most. It highlights his greatness. He's a genius, and a master of boxing And...It's not only for what he's achieved in boxing but for what he brings to the sport and how he conducts himself outside the ring with such class, and how he represents his country going through a war. He's truly one of the greats.
What Usyk's accomplished in his career is truly amazing. I'm not ready to put him up there with the best heavyweights though. Usyk did what he had to do but he doesn't have the deep HW resume of some other great heavyweights. As he is 37, he is not going to have a deep heavyweight resume.
The cruiserweights of his era are as big or bigger than the heavyweights of the past tbh. You can't discount his amateur career from his legacy. He'd have a much deeper pro career if he turned over at 21 instead of 27.
He is the GOAT, cry me a river. The fighter that expose fighters like Mike Tyson and Povetkin, who got shut up by big guys. Usyk shows how to fight big guys, and not let them clinch you to death. Usyk expose the game. The best fighter of any generation. Not a single controversial result on his career. Fighting 40+ legit bigger guys than him, with 15-20+cm. and reach advantage. No one could have done taht of the past top fighters, no one.
Leonard has 3 wins though against ATGs Hagler, Duran, Hearns, and another win vs a great in Benitez. Despite Usyk having a very good record he has yet to beat a great fighter for me, although beating bigger elite guys is certainly a big aspect that heightens Usyk's all time ranking. I do agree with you though that the amount of fights is not that important in the grand scheme of things if you have alot of quality to a resume. But saying that I still don't rate Usyk very highly in Heavyweight all time rankings because he doesn't have a deep enough resume but P4P I rate him pretty highly.
His HW resume doesn't have much depth, but it is top heavy. Joshua was a good Heavyweight and Fury was a very good if not great HW.
He is certainly one of the greatest fighters ever but guys like Dempsey, Marciano and Louis will always be regarded by casual fight fans as historically more important because of how popular the sport was when they fought. Boxing simply isn't a mainstream sport like it was but with that said, I would favor Uysk to beat all three of those legendary fighters that I mentioned. He is undoubtedly a very special fighter that always finds a way to win.
