Aj does much better against fighters Fury size you can't base Usyk and Fury fight both lost to him. Styles makes fight Fury style and reach would naturally give Usyk some problems. However Fury leaving himself open the way he does and trying to clinch AJ is suicide.
Joshua needs to build himself up. Let him fight Hrgovic/Dubois/Parker. Those are good fights for him. Then we'll see what he's got left and whether he's worthy of a shot at the top boys.
He was scared of Usyk the whole time. All the thing his trying to do, and couldn't get into Usyk head, literally backpedaled and he was shook. He was nervous big time. All the showboating and se was kinda forced. Like to try someone to believe him that he ain't scared of Usyk. It was pretty clear. What Krassyuk said was 100% correct. Usyk did eat his soul, Usyk did eat Fury heart, and he did eat his energy and legit KO him, but referee stole that from Usyk. Another big b.c. drop out there that Fury is mentally so strong. He is actually the mental midget, as he needs to have advantages going into the fight, as he is not certain in his own abilities. Also his gameplay before the fight was all wrong. Making certain fighters mad have it's benefits, but making certain fights angry, like AJ and Usyk is the worst thing to do. With AJ is proven already that you should act like you respect him, and he is your buddy like Usyk, and Ruiz did. Same for Usyk, as you make him mad, and you will pay the price. Ask Huck and Dubois for example. So he ain't the mind games king. He is far from it. Terrible strategy.
Yeah, Fury is like a mental midget, a child if you will. He portrays something he's not, which will eventually catch up to him (as it did last night). Now that he's been exposed to the whole world as being beatable (by a smaller man no less!), he will struggle to continue his boxing career. Retirement is his new profession, hopefully.
I think the showboating early on was a combination of him trying to win the rounds in the judges eyes and his nerves. He was shook going into the fight no doubt.
Anybody else and this would more than likely be the case however Joshua is a big money draw and even off the back of those four rebuilding fights he will get a title shot if Usyk is stripped of the IBF belt, which will tbh open the division up a bit . Parker and Kabayel will more than likely be asked to fight each other when in true reality off the back of there recent wins should be walking straight into title shots at the first possibility .
I don't like Fury but not everyone needs to be same that would make the sport boring. What Fury does is part of the business playing mind games and trash talking it gets us talking and want to see him get beat. Ali used to stalk Sonny Liston all over to get a fight from him while trash talking calling Joe an uncle Tom people still love him. Mike Tyson used to punk people told Lennox he wants to eat his children we still love him not everyone needs to be the same.
Exactly. I made the point on another thread that if he didn't have the celebrity he wouldn't even be considered for a shot nevermind people talking up his chances. There are 5/6 ahead of him in the queue based on recent form but boxing ignores that and follows the money.
Nothing in that battle between Fury and Joshua tells me categorically that AJ beats Fury - or vice versa. Styles are very different, and the approach and gameplan would likely be different. The only thing I'd say for sure is I doubt Joshua could make adjustments like Usyk did to turn things around mid-fight - it was clear that neither Joshua nor Fury could keep with Usyk's pace. Also Joshua is a confidence fighter, and I'm not sure he could take the uppercuts that Usyk did and suck 'em up and get back to work. Before last night's fight I would have made AJ favourite, but Fury showed he still has enough in the tank to potentially shut Joshua out for much of the fight and get a decision.
Fury wasn’t scared as in fearful of the man but rather scared of the fact that he genuinely wasn’t sure he could overcome Usyk’s skills in a boxing match. The showboating Fury always does in high profile fights is his tactic to give out the impression he’s in control and to navigate his way through the fight without having to throw shots as often and still secure the rounds.
By Fury's own words of how easy it would be to crush Usyk and no man (much less a smaller man) could beat him, yes indeed, he's been exposed.
