I think the difference in speed and output between Usyk now and the first Joshua fight is quite clear. Yes, Fury is a different opponent that requires a different approach, but I think the slowdown was evident against Dubois too.

And this Fury carries around more extra weight than the one that beat Wlad and that will of course have an effect, but he still looked amazingly agile for such a big man, slipping and spinning out of corners, and his recovery was still fantastic. So this was a good version, but just not the very best.

Despite largely ducking his contemporaries Tyson Fury is extremely lucky not to have stoppage losses to Deontay Wilder and Otto Wallin and decision losses to McDermott and Ngannou. Most people would have been fine if the referee had stopped the fights in his opponents favor in Wilder 1 and Wallin. Some referees might have waved it off in Wilder 3 as well.

If he's constantly flirting with defeat while still conveniently ducking most of his major threats I think that's probably cause for concern.

I think Wilder might’ve done some damage to Fury in the third fight. Fury will tell you as much although he’s rarely truthful.

I think so too. But Fury did more damage to himself through the local pub and fish n chips shop.

Yes, he could have had three TKO losses, but I think the ref's decision in those has been vindicated in each case.

And, yes, for all of his bravado he surely has been careful when choosing his opposition. A third Chisora meet and then Ngannou for one who many considered lineal at the time will go down in history, which of course walking away from a 70-30 split for undisputed will as well.

Yeah. And it's pretty great to have an Undisputed Heavyweight Champion again, it's been so long....

I have been saying much of the above for some time, but apparently some needed to see him lose to Usky to take it on board.

Fighting Wilder three times will do that to you.

Wilder of course hasn't come out unscathed, but his decline has been quite the opposite. He's definitely slower now, has diminished reflexes, and probably lost power in that right hand, but the only thing that seems to have remained intact is his durability.

I think it was more the case that Usky was very good at frustrating his clinches.

In fact if somebody wanted to know how to do this, this is one fight that I might advise them to study.

That's what I'm seeing at this point, too. I'm very unhappy about it, as I am a big fan of Deontay. I would be thrilled to see him victorious over competition like Joshua, Ruiz.

This is some trolling you have going on, but I don't really understand it.

To be fair, it’s very difficult to break a habit.

I would’ve favored him over Joshua and Ruiz years ago but not now.

Well Ruiz looks done tbh, so a fight between them could go either way today.

Hey professor, Jack Dempsey was 187 when he knocked out 245 Jess Willard. It can't happen? It already has happened. And Canelo in your example can bloat himself up with as many costume muscles to any weigh any bloated up weight he wants, he'll never have the natural bone density and frame of an adult sized grown man like a Jack Dempsey or Joe Louis, or the functional strength of a Rocky Marciano. Why not? Because a little guy lifting weights doesn't make him bigger, it just makes him more muscular. Factor in the natural strength of a healthy able bodied adult man x the concept of diminishing returns next time you come up with your mathematical formula, professor.
