He is past his prime from a physical standpoint, but he just became undisputed champion and isn't in any trouble of getting toppled over anytime soon. I think he should continue as long as he has a passion for it, and clearly he does.

I love it when undisputed champions defend their title really proving they are the best in the division.

He's past his prime, but is far from shot. A 90% Usyk is still the best HW in the world. So you have a point. But the counter argument is why not retire on top? Eventually (if he sticks around long enough) he will lose to lesser quality fighter who wouldn't have even been competitive with him during his prime. Why stick around long enough to find out when that time is?

Because fighters train their whole lives to fight. That's not something so easy to turn off. Even an old lion wants to show dominion over the young lions. They will do so until they get beat.

In general I find the notion that a boxer should retire when they are on top is more of issue of defensiveness and legacy. RJJr continued fighting, Hopkins continued fighting and will be remembered for their legacy. Ward and Calzaghe retired on top and will not be remembered.

On the flip side, if he retires, he might feel with time that little voice in his head that says 'but was it the right time though?' Lennox Lewis retired too early, he hinted at that. And I don't think losing a fight as a 40-year-old would hurt his legacy. It just says 'it's time to go, champ'.

This thread like all the others has an agenda
To make Joshua look good and Fury rubbish

He cannot just be happy with the result and comment on a good fight. Sad really

Against Whiterspoon he was winning with ease, complete different fight, and he was just moved to HW. He also was very rusty. That's why he was shaking his arm constantly.
And i'm compare his punch output from HW fights, AJ fights for example. In AJ 2 he threw 712 punches, now 400+.

As far as fight with AJ goes, this ain't happening and should not happening. AJ doesn't deserve to fight Usyk for a 3rd time.
Neither of the fights was close to warrant a 3rd fight.
Usyk is old and almost shot, so AJ doesn't deserve to get a win, just because Usyk is so old now.
He had his chances twice already.

    Yep I agree in someway
    The zero is not everything
All goat contenders gave losses and if he loses a fight in a few years? It's no big deal

He has earned the right to retire, but he clearly still is a great fighter and can beat anyone if he's top of his game

    Great fighter regardless

I'd like to see a Fury rematch and a couple more fights and then retire. At 37, he is starting to push it. In the Fury fight he lost the middle rounds of the fight badly because he no longer has the gas tank to stay on his bike for 12 rounds and throw tons of punches. The tank for 12 hard rounds nonstop is no longer there. And the legs don't have the same bounce anymore.

Or maybe unlike you, who is beyond biased have good Boxing eyes and see thing you are clearly bind too ?
And our past has proved that. You just now come to the acceptance that your fraud hero will lose to AJ. Something i have said when AJ was on the lowest point of his career.
You were the one saying how Ngannou is going to KO AJ, and how AJ can't hurt him, can't move him in the clinch, Ngannou is too strong, blq, blq, blq.
And then how Fury will KO Usyk with ease, right ?

Yeah it's clear who knows nothing, and who knows his thing.

I'm saying what i'm seeing. Neither AJ, neither Fury has anything to do with Usyk physical decline, so stop flooding every thread with your agenda.

If Lewis was stayed, he would have lost the rematch to Klitschko for certain, and then his legacy would be in tatters.
There is no such thing as retired too early.

Usyk ain't natural HW, and this is what most of you don't get. Most of this guys, Lewis included, they could always get away because of their power, strength or just pure size, height and reach.

And Usyk is giving away all of this to pretty much 99% of the HW division, and he is giving huge age disadvantage as well.

I'm very able to recognize the beginning of the end for fighters, as i have follow plenty of Fighters(not just Boxers) career from start to finish essentially.
And Usyk is heavily on the decline.

I also predicted what Povetkin end would be if he takes the Whyte rematch. So i definitely knows my stuff.
