Can you name one opponent in his prime, that he actually jabbed to death aside from the extremely limited Cobb?

Larry was great but did he ever have an easy night with anyone? That wasn't really his style. I'd still take him in a tough fight over Fury.

What makes jabbing Cooney into knots equatable to jabbing Fury into knots?

I know that was a rhetorical question and I won't give a smart ass answer but we can agree there were boxers he dominated. Maybe they weren't all that but he dominated them.

Fury was knocked around by Usyk. Holmes has him staggering his big Jethro ass all over the ring, horribly lumped up and eating tons of overhand rights.

    Holmes in 11.

Holmes is my favourite fighter of all time, but I've always thought Fury would give him major issues and what we saw over the weekend doesn't change that for me. Usyk struggled with Fury's length and Usyk is a guy who I'd say is better on the front foot, stalking opponents than Larry was. That's not to say that he couldn't do it, but Usyk's offensive foot work and headmovement is a bit better to me.

I think Holmes would seriously struggle to land major shots on Fury's head. One issue that Fury has always had though, is a low punch output and that's where I think Holmes can beat him. I don't think Holmes would land a lot of big shots on Fury, but he would win rounds through just throwing more and landing some shots to the body. In a 12 round fight I'd probably say Holmes wins by a VERY thin margin, in a split decision

Sensible post. I'd have Holmes but it's not going to be there on a platter for him. He'd have to win ugly which i'd back him to do.

Now I know you haven't actually watched any of Holmes' fights. Cooney fought with Holmes on rather even terms until the 8th round, when his lack of ring activity kicked in.

As a matter of fact, if not for the fouls, Cooney would've actually been ahead on 2 cards (which is admittedly a joke).

Yeah I'd favor Holmes as well. But it's not going to be this walk in the park, everyone thinks it is. He's going to have to work for it for sure.

I watched many of his fights live. I watched the Norton fight live at Mike's Bar in DeBary, Florida. It was on free tv. There was a betting pool and I bet Norton via decision. I felt I came a lot closer than almost everybody else that picked Larry by knockout.I admittedly didn't watch the Cooney fight live but I remember where I was when he won. I was at Park Avenue Night Club in Winter Park, Florida. Also watched the Holyfield and Weaver fights recently on YouTube. Oh. and Butterbean. Also, watched an amateur fight of his where Ali and Cosell were ringside and Cosell said he fights like you or something to that effect. Also remember where I was when Leonard beat Benitez. I was at a Big Daddy's in Daytona Beach. Oh, and must have seen the Tyson fight dozens of times. Just remembered. I used to drive past the old Diplomat Hotel in Hallandale. That's the hotel where Larry dropkicked Trevor Berbick from the roof of a car.

I mean, there’s the Cobb fight and the Marvis Frazier fight. There’s also his rematch with Weaver (admittedly an old man battle, but talk about a way to avenge an almost loss). And Berbick. And a bunch of tomato cans.

They weren't any great shakes but he also dominated Ocasio, Leon Spinks and Evangelista. Come to think of it I might have watched some of those fights live.

I missed the Butterbean fight live for whatever reason. Did you watch it a bar or something? That would have been an entertaining one. It was scheduled as a freakshow but then a legitimate boxing match broke out.
