This is such a funny post. What is your problem exactly? This was the first Undisputed Fight in 25 years, do you really expect us to not talk about it, and the clear controversy once again with the judges?
I think the AI scoring and stats, should 100% replace the terrible Compubox we have now. What do you guys thing?
10-2 is crazy. Fury won 4-7 and possibly 3rd round and possibly 12th. I've always thought that @CST80 was an AI construct. Now we know it's true.
No one scored it 10-2 mate when Fury unanimously won 3 rounds back to back in the middle of the fight. Also C3PO or whatever his username is does not score fights subjectively because he hates certain fighters. An example of this is Canelo and I remember he had Mungaia winning about 8-4 at the beginning of the month which is obviously well out of kilter with absolutely everyone else. He does however service our needs on the site with updates and information and is clearly passionate about our sport so kudos to him for that. If he didn’t, this forum wouldn’t be as good as it is.
Hmmm, well, it is debatable and I do see your point . But maximising what you have left at any given stage of a fighters career is more a personal discipline rather than a physical prime issue for me. However, we could split hairs all day long on this debating mental strength/disapline as a 'prime' consideration, certainly in this particular instance.
Agreed, Though I would add that in addition to 4-7, plus 3 and 12 as *possible* Fury rounds, you also had 1 and 2 as *possible* Fury rounds. Round 11 was arguable for him as well. I had Usyk winning, but far from comfortable.
What controversy are you exactly talking about? The right man won and deservedly so, which is great, because the majority of us love Usyk as he is a consummate professional and represents our sport in the best way possible. Also great for the people of Ukraine, especially with the awful ongoing situation they are in and I am sure that they are very proud of their man. I’m English and although I prefer Usyk, I don’t have a problem with Fury and I think most Brits are happy for him that he is now undisputed.
At the end of the fight I thought Fury had won by a round but doing the math it would be a draw. Trust me the result was in doubt in the arena. And I'm no Fury lover. He did very good work up till the nose was broken in the 8th (or was it the 7th?). I can understand Fury thinking he won but he needs to see the film to realize he was hurt badly. Problem is that he has great recuperative powers as his brain is small and protected buy an unusually thick skull casing. With out the knockdown and the 10-8 score for the 9th it would have been a draw. That's close enough for someone to think Fury could win a rematch. Issue is, does he want to get in the ring again and does Paris convince him otherwise.
Go watch the fight again with no commentary, as they 100% influence what viewers see. Fury didn't win Round 4, neither Round 7. You give them this round, for what exactly? Showboating? On what boxing criteria did he win the rounds? This ain't nagging i legit want to know, on what criteria did Fury won the 4 and 7 rounds. As i rewatched the Rounds, and here it what happens in them: - Usyk going straight after Fury and landed right hook/jab. on Fury from the get going. - Fury than landed a body shot + a lowblow. - Another body shot for Fury. Then Fury throws around 10 punches with every single one of them was blocked 100% by Usyk. Not a single one landed. - Usyk lands backhand to Fury body - Usyk lands huge left Hook on Fury head, that Fury needs to shake it off after he moved from the ropes/corner. That shot clearly affected him. - Usyk lands jab to the body - Usyk lands another overhand left to Fury's head, this time it was partially - Usyk lands jab to the body - Usyk lands another left counter to Fury head - Fury than lands left hand uppercut. It wasn't full landed shot though - Usyk lands left to the body not very powerful one - Fury headbutted Usyk, which open Usyk cut over his right eye, which later the imbecile ref declared it was from phantom punch - Fury tries uppercut but missing. Yet commentators scream that he landed huge uppercut, but he didn't. The punch landed on Usyk arm. - Fury catch Usyk with right hook, but that was arm punch with no power behind it - Usyk lands to the body - Usyk put a barrage 3-4 punches onto Fury body, landing consecutive, that the biased commentators decide to ignore once again - Usyk lands another barrage of shots, 2-3 to the body, and this time going to the head as well Right hook and Left Straight landed clearly though Fury's Guard - Usyk lands 1-2 to the body - Usyk lands another Left to the body - Usyk lands another Left to the body - Fury lands left jab - Fury miss uppercut and Usyk miss with an overhand left Also Usyk was on the front foot for the entire round, clearly put Fury under pressure and was clearly the effective agressor. He was the one landing the clean shots, also unload 2x. time a barrage of punches when Fury was on to the rope. So based on what should anyone score the 4th. round for Fury? Let me rewatch the 7th round, and describe the action: - Usyk lands jab to the body - Usyk land jab to the head - Fury lands body shot - Fury lands jab - Fury clinch, but didn't want anything at all - Fury lands clearly illegal kidney left body shot, while trying to clinch again - Usyk lands left in the clinch, not powerful at all - Usyk lands left to the body - Usyk lands jab to the head - Usyk land the best punch of the round, huge counter left to Fury's head - Fury lands a jab - Usyk lands left to the body - Usyk land jab to the body - Usyk lands left to the body - Fury lands right uppercut to the head - Usyk land left to the head - Usyk lands left to the head - Fury land arm left hook to the head - Usyk lands huge left to the body - Usyk lands left to the head again - Usyk lands Right hook to the head - Usyk lands uppercut to the head - Usyk lands jab to the face Also have in mind Usyk was on the front foot the whole round. Put Fury onto the ropes and landed the cleaner shots. Also the most impactful and more power shots. How on earth can you make a case for Fury in this 2 rounds? The reality is the commentators completely ignored every single Usyk punch to the body, and most of his head shots. And when Fury landed they were screaming. Also a lot of time Fury was missing and they still screaming. Or when Usyk was blocking with his gloves. No way in hell Fury won Round 4 or 7.
