I think it would be a competitive fight with Holmes’s jab being the main point of difficulty for Usyk. Could go either way but I think the leap in eras could be too much for Holmes. Hard to predict.

I would still favor Holmes but not in an easy fight, Usyk is skilled enough to make the fight competitive...

Usyk would drive Holmes crazy and confuse him with his superlative technique.

Holmes jab wouldnt work with Usyk, hes a master in dodging jabs, feint, and counterpunch the opponent with surprising fast and and powerful overhands and hooks.

    Easton Assassin's fall,
    Lost to Spinks, not undisputed,
    Usyk stands tall.

Tyson was doing well with his jab till the 7th, he was dominating Usyk for a few rounds leading up to the 7th when Usyk figured him out however Holmes had an insane jab, it would have been a hell of a fight.

Holmes outboxes Usyk comprehensively. Usyk is no Spinks. Homes is too quick on his feet to be caught on the ropes and hurt like Fury was. Larry will pepper Usyk with the jab all night.

Usyk is better at landing shots at heavyweight than Spinks was and he has a better chin.

And Usyk has more power than HW Spinks.

50/50 fight if Holmes can get his jab going then it'll be a tough fight for Usyk if he can't then it'll be a tough fight for him. Good southpaws can take away anyone's jab and Holmes has never fought a southpaw so how he deals with a very good one will be the big questions mark of this fight.

This forum has an old-school bias...Apparently everyone from the past is better than Usyk and would destroy him...

Actually Holmes did fight a southpaw as an amateur. He fought Nick Wells twice and LH got knocked out both times. I don't know if the problem was that he couldn't pick up the punches from the southpaw stance or something else, but Holmes lost both times he fought a southpaw. From LH results with southpaws, if he fought Usyk, I'd have to lean toward Usyk.

Good to know makes sense because of how good style is reliant on his jab and if you take that away, which a good southpaw will do, he won't be able to be effective.

Yeah, your triangle theory arguments have been devastating.

As devastating as a Sven Ottke right hand.
