Substance abuse and trilogy with Wilder means Fury is not the same fighter who won the title . Fury from 2015 pts . Later Fury Holmes pts .

Holmes TKO 4 if it's today's refs, Holmes TKO 7 if it's back in the day.

Too wide of a skill gap, Larry figures him out quickly, finds Tyson's noggin a few times then loads up & it's over.

I shouldn't have been flippant about Larry jabbing him to death but he was the busier fighter in the ring and when it came to defending his title.

I’d take Holmes by a decision in either a 12 or 15 round fight.. whatever it’s scheduled for. Fury’s height and reach would keep him in the fight but he basically gets outclassed

Come on. I agree that Holmes is a much better fighter and should be favored to win. But stopping Fury early ? Holmes couldn’t even stop Lucien Rodriguez.

I honestly do believe that the skill level difference between Holmes and Fury is just that great, it's incredibly wide to me. When I picture them both in action against each other Head to Head I just see Holmes absolutely toying with Fury and hitting him pretty much at will whenever he wanted and would eventually get the TKO. Fury has a terrible chin and reacts to any half decent shot that he gets hit with and if it's a little bit more than a half decent shot he goes down.

Fury goes down from shots that back in the old days, the commentators would say ooh there was a good shot landed. That would have been about it. Now there is a huge Fanfare when someone lands a half decent shot it's disgusting.

Perhaps we could cherry pick the Holmes that stopped Leon Spinks.

I don’t remember a struggle against Renaldo Snipes I remember one good punch Larry Holmes worked him over.
Against Mike Weaver what’s the shame? He was a strong contender even then Larry had the flu and still stopped him with 4 more rounds to go in the lead.

Holmes all day. Fury was a good hype man, though-
it's like, If he could somehow win the rematch with Usyk, maybe he would solidify himself as top-3 all time? oi vey

People tend to make excuses for their favorites. He was badly knocked down by Snipes and Usyk would not be if they fought 100 times.

Everyone knows Weaver was a tough fight for Larry, including Larry.

Larry had the flu against Weaver I personally believe him you don’t have to. I don’t think you need to make it out as if it’s just a fan shielding his idol it’s just how I see it, he’s just another great fighter to me.
I don’t see how your first statement means anything I stated it how it is, Larry Holmes worked him over and Snipes landed one very good punch.
