Is the difference between Golovkin and Beterbiev opportunity?

Beterbiev never has fought a guy on the caliber of Canelo but GGG rarely scathed by Jacobs and a lot had Jacobs winning. I don’t think a Jacobs caliber guys makes it 12 with Beterbiev. Although Beterbiev has a solid resume and it seems like he’s getting the bigger fights now, it’s disappointing that he didn’t fight Kovalev and Stevenson in their primes which are fights he’d win. It’s kind of similar to how Inoue didn’t get the Choco and Estrada fight but Inoue is still young and has a lot more opportunities to enhance his resume while Beterbiev is most likely on his last legs.

Who is to blame here? Artur and his team for not picking the right promoters, or would he have never got the opportunities?

 

The maior difference is that Beterbiev actually DOES punch that hard. Golovkin did not punch nearly as hard as Beterbiev did p4p.

The hell? GGG stopped being a puncher when he fought Lexmiuex, Jacobs and Canelo. He became a boxer-puncher. Beterbiev is a puncher no matter who steps into the ring with him. He's like Foreman. Dude is going to bang out anybody if he lands.

 

I don’t disagree with Beterbiev being a bigger puncher but your response has nothing to do with my thread. So again, shut up tin.

The difference is how they aged. Nobody wanted a piece of prime GGG, but when he had slowed down and became very hittable, other top guys thought he was ready for the taking. Beterbiev’s style doesn’t rely on youth, so he’s never really looked quite as vulnerable.

 

Beterbiev's career would have panned out differently if he moved to the UK instead of Canada.

Yarde's crap in comparison, but he's probably going to end up making more from boxing than Beterbiev did when his career's finished.

People were diving into dumpsters to hide when they heard GGG was coming down the street in his prime. Floyd talked a big talk about how he was 'easy work' but when GGG offered to go to 154 he was too busy polishing his watches. Eubank lost his pen. Martinez turned deaf. Cotto looked like he'd swallowed a frog when they asked him about fighting Golovkin. Ward wanted the fight to 'marinate'. Canelo outright vacated his belt and Sturm had a new one made for himself so that he didn't have to face GGG.

Nobody wanted a piece of him. He'd roughed up a bunch of top tier fighters in sparring and the word spread fast. His first nickname, in case people don't know, was "Superman".

GGG never really got the juicy fights until he'd slowed down some.

Granted he was still very dangerous but there was hope now when fighting him.

 

Beterbiev might not fight again....

 

A lot of Beterbiev's opponents move their head into Beterbiev's punches.

 

Only the idiots had Jacobs winning, that was an 8-4/7-5 win for Golovkin.

And this was a Golovkin that was beginning signs of aging. Jacobs also resorted to ballooning up weight, he looked almost like a cruiser in there against Golovkin, yet still got knocked down early.

Beterbiev hasn't fought anyone bigger than as of yet, he's a huge light heavy.
