Do you now agree that Usyk is a boxing great? How great is he, and how is he great?

Is Usyk great, how is he great, and how great is he?

  1. He is the GOAT...the greatest to ever do it.

    13.8%
  2. Uber elite PfP...talking Robinson, Greb, Armstrong, Leonard, Ali, Louis...

    44.6%
  3. Not uber elite, but a true pfp great AND great at heavy, just lower down the list

    38.5%
  4. Not uber elite and not a great heavy, but he is a pfp great nonetheless for 4-belts in two division

    1.5%
  5. He's not great.

    1.5%

Everyone knows that I think he is uber elite. Being the first 4-belt champ at cruiser and heavy, undefeated, going to other backyards to do it, and never even having been off his feet...wow!

A few are resisting the whirlwind and still don't think that he is great...he doesn't have enough fights or he hasn't beaten first-tier guys. To me, none of that matters. He has only needed 22 fights to do it, and I hardly care that he hasn't beaten 20-30 more bums, gatekeepers and fringe contenders. And the reason that he doesn't have a truly great opponent is that he hasn't let anyone be one. He doesn't need the paradox of an Ali-Frazier-Foreman-Norton, or Leonard-Duran-Hearns-Haglar type rocks-scissors-paper situation to define him, he just beats everyone in front of him.

Some say that he is great as a pfp guy but not as heavy...I think that is fair, but for me, it is too cute by half. Is he a great heavyweight fighter, or a great 6'3" 223 pound for pound guy who had beaten the two best heavies of the last 10 years in three fights? Doesn't make a shred of difference to me.

But say what you have to say, and vote for the option that most represents your opinion. The first 4 options are for some degree of greatness...the last is that he simply is not a great fighter yet.

Hes an ATG for beating fighters in their own backyard, being one of the most skillful fighters who's Heavyweight sized, beating highly ranked bigger fighters who had significant size over him, and finally for being undisputed in two weightclass.

I don't think hes on the same level as Robinson, Greb, etc resume wise because they beat so many greats and hall of famers it's actually insane. And whilst Usyk has a very good resume and deserves credit for beating bigger fighters who are classed as good-very good, hes still not actually ever beaten anyone who I would consider great.

So hes more like a top 30 P4P fighter of all time for me rather than top 10 like some people are claiming.

Usyk can only beat what’s available to him and he has beat the other two stand out fighters of his time taking all there belts and titles and currently stands as the Undisputed Heavyweight of his era and he also did the same at Cruiserweight. Usyk is not yet retired so he is still an open book with possibly more to come .

Top 3 CW and I don't see how anyone would dispute that........................trying to place him at HW is a little more difficult

I think he's the best to ever have laced them up.

Unified the most competitive cruiserweight division in history.

Toppled the two world class super heavyweight fighters.

All this as the away fighter.

    - amateur world champion
    - olympic gold medalist
    - cleaned out IMO the strongest cruiserweight division ever (consisting of fighters the size of past era's HW's), and nobody can tell me otherwise (like the OP said, he didn't let people be great)
    - cleaned out a strong heavyweight division in 5 fights with relative ease, and nobody can tell me otherwise too (Fury and Joshua are both elite heavyweights, you can't just say they're not so great because they lost too... Usyk)
    - beat 7 world champions pretty much in their prime in their backyard or at least not at home
    - never been down
    - never fouls, hits after the break etc, used no dirty tricks, apparently has never used steroids too

    Are you kidding me?
How is he not Uber elite?
That's ridiculous. Ali level, or better, and if you can't see it you're a delusional old-head, sorry.

Edit: I don't believe that such a thing as the best ever even exists so I don't rate him as that. He's the highest tier.

First man to 100% complete boxing from amateur as a kid to olympics to semi-pro to Cruiserweight and now HW.

The only thing left to even do is just the side quest of defending the belts if he wants to.
All done undefeated and on away turf in every fight

Overrated hypejob. Until he moves down to bridgerweight and challenges the undisputed WBC champion Lawrence Okolie, only then should he be considered an all time great. Smh.

p4p he is in the hundred if he wants to retire. Probably in the region of 60.

ATG at heavy, no, he's 7-0 there, but it's the important seven and I'd have him right around the number 20 spot if he retires tomorrow.

& to lose to Fury in the rematch would not count against him one bit.

    Uber elite.

From the modern era, only Lewis and Vitali beat him 5+ times/10 imo. Wlad would get iced with 2-3 shots every time he tries the jab and grab.

And maybe prime 80s Tyson with the look in his eyes.

Lol at goat and uber elite
I put him in the 3rd criteria which is amazing and with great company

I can allow some to think he is among the top 10, though I still find that ludicrous

    But greater than the following?

    SRR
    Greb
    Armstrong
    Ali
    Duran
    Ray Leonard
    Edward Charles
    Langford
    Joe Louis
    Lennox lewis
    Floyd mayweather
    Manny pacquiao
    Etc
    Etc

    F..k.off lol

    Edit

The 2 saying not great is equally as ******ed as thinking he is the actual goat
