In terms of their all time ranking, I have Duran a decent bit higher.
H2H I think Duran beats Floyd.

It's a lot closer than some are making out though.

    Duran, and by some margin.

    He was an absolute savage.

Depends where Mayweather's career is. If FM needed to get to a higher level in the sport or get paid 50 mil+. I could see Floyd taking a fight with Roberto.

I think very highly of Floyd as a fighter and I think he'd have fought Duran if the $$$ was right.

I’m not saying Floyd is greater than Duran but I’m pretty sure he could go 15 rounds. If there’s one thing I doubt he falls short on is stamina.

Duran fought everyone. I always said his loss to Ray in 1980 was just an excuse, but in reality he did fight everyone and he was greater than Floyd. If you fight everyone you will lose, and Hearns lost also but they came to fight and that is a real fighter. Roberto and Floyd were two different types of fighters. One would fight everyone at anytime and the other handpicked for an undefeated record, and it has to do with eras and social media and money and image. Duran just saw winning as his whole image and knocking someone out.. A lot of pride. Duran wanted to become great by beating everyone. Floyd wanted to be great by constructing an undefeated record. Maybe it is unfair to insult Floyd, but he waited for the Manny fight to me he was the great constructor. Duran was in the mold of boxing history.

You do know that Mayweather is quite possibly the “Lance Armstrong” of boxing with his deal with USADA and that was for only 12 round fights, such as stating when they can test him and also covering a few things up.The bottom link is very interesting in regards to how USADA would deal with any positive tests from either Mayweather or Pacquiao. The USADA contract was to cover up any failed test by either fighter by issuing a retroactive TUE,Pacquiao and his Team rejected it straight away. There is also the the Thomas Hauser articles in regards to Mayweather and ped use.

And just like Armstrong, the vast majority of his peers were also on the gear.
