Floyd would have avoided Duran like the plague. He would have avoided SRL. Both guys would have beat his ass. Badly.

Leonard would have brutalized Floyd. Possibly assraped him in the ring. He and Duran were special fighters. Throw Tommy Hearns in to the discussion of guys who would have brutalized Floyd. Man I miss those days. When Boxing was king.

Duran and it really is not that close. I mean look at his welterweight fights- he beat a freaking prime Ray Leonard which you would be hard pressed to pick a handful of welterweights to achieve that.
He beat the crap out of Palomino as well.
He destroyed Moore. Gave Hagler a good fight.
Beat Barkley a full sized middleweight.
And this is not even mentioning his title reign at lightweight.

Unlike Benitez, Mayweather doesn't have the size advantage.

Floyd beat both guys you mentioned when h was not at his best. In this mythical match up I choose the best versions of themselves hence my choice of Lightweight Duran at 135 pounds and Floyd from 140 pounds upwards.

Floyd does not win fights with size and neither does Duran. Both guys have high level skills.

Just curious, Olu. Is there any version of Mayweather you would take over the 154 pound version of Benitez that beat the past his best Duran?

I honestly believe most people on this poll are giving their opinions on who was a greater fighter on the atg list, not a h2h result, including me. I think Floyd would give Duran problems due to his skill, but Duran would get to him eventually.

Any version of Floyd and Benitez will be a serious problem for each other because it would be like looking at a mirror for each each other. The difference between them is Floyd’s dedication. Can Duran beat Floyd of course he can as Duran could beat anybody more or less except for Hearns and he could beat guys who beat Hearns. Duran is arguably the best fighter ever. However Floyd knows how to win and can run the numbers on anybody. You don’t beat Floyd with size or power because his ring IQ is next level so of course Floyd could win. This is not a binary choice because the truth is much more nuanced you are. Talking of grand masters. Floyd simply did not know how to lose. He fought and beat everybody the few he did not face the guys he defeated dealt with them such as lil g, Margarito and Tyzu.

I think Benitez beats Mayweather at 154 that was a good weight for Benitez he shooled Duran, went the distance with Hearns, and stopped Hope brutally via KO.

At 140/147 it would be razor thin close and could go either way but I'll give the slight edge to Mayweather.

Difficult to argue with your analysis. Definitely a difficult fight for both men.

Almost 90 % voted for Hands of Stone Roberto Duran The only thing that would happen with Floyd if he was faced by Duran would be what happened when he was faced by Antonio Margarito asking him " Why wont you fight me"? He practically had a nervous breakdown as we have all seen,he was terrified

Don't make excuses for Floyd You'd NEVER get him in the ring with Duran even in Vegas
