There is no planet where a Usky ever beats a PRIME Ali based off of what 2 wins over a Joshua and a Fury who literally got beat up by an MMA fighter in his prior fight. Fury is SLOWER then a prime Ali.
Usyk could win against any of them, would he is another question as Usyk joined the heavyweight ranks late. None of those heavyweights, would wish to face Usyk with their titles on the line. Oh for a time machine, to get definitive answer to these and all the other who would win match ups in the Classic Forum.
He has beaten what 4 heavyweights? And that somehow locks him into an alltime great? I like Usyk but people leave out that an ancient Chirosa gave him hell a Dubious dropped him hard and a pretty light punching Fury had him stunned pretty good, a Fury I might add has seen better days possibly. Usyk was a great cruiserweight and he is a great boxer based on his entire body of work but for people to place him in the top ten ALLTIME based off of four wins is crazy.
Nobody ever beat an Ali in his prime. It can be argued that he lost out on his prime years. Ali is too fast for Usyk who has never faced that kind of speed and jab. Ali had the fastest jab of a heavyweight ever recorded.
Norton and Frazier don't exist ig. He also didn't have the level of opposition in his "prime" as he did afterwards but I'm sure both Frazier and Norton would have given him a tough fight in his prime. Except the only time he fought a southpaw his jab was useless and he had to rely on his right hand so wouldn't really matter against Usyk.
You don’t consider the modern Cruiserweight wins he has? These are men as big as the heavies he’s being asked to beat.
He is clever enough to beat some of these men, but he probably looses to most of them. The pressure fighters probably beat him, while he has a good chance against the men who give him room to do what he wants.
No. Prime Holyfield (not the one that fought Tyson) was a maestro of the bodyshot. Like, on the move. This content is protected
It is true that Ali never lost in his prime years and is rightfully regarded as the gold standard for world champions but I would hardly say that he was unbeatable. Henry Cooper planted him with a left hook and found Ali was far to reliant on his speed and outside boxing ability. Uysk has way more versatility as he can adapt and fight inside and outside with equal effectiveness. I'm not saying he is greater as I have a tremendous amount of respect for Ali but I will also not count out Uysk. I have been following him since his amateur days and the man never disappoints. Uysk will never be more popular than Ali. Ali fought in an era when boxing was simply more popular and there is a cultural impact that he had that Uysk will NEVER match. With that said, Ali didn't fight a lot of southpaws and that is a big deal for a conventional fighter that lives off of his jab. Uysk has made a career out of taking the jab away from conventional fighters and I have no doubt that he would be pure hell for any former world champion. Yes, he is that good.
Evander Holyfield was a good fighter who I have a lot of respect for its just I think that Usyk would be on the move and knew his distance better. “The Real Deal” never stepped out of range it was his nature so a good jab would always off set him to me. If you watch the Riddick Bowe fights even the 2nd when Evander worked his way in and out he was hit with a jab nearly each time I think Usyk could capitalise better then Bowe did and work off it instead of just throwing it out with nothing coming behind it a lot of the time. I also think that all the things Micheal Moorer did in the first fight not the one that happened 3 1/2 years later Usyk could do better. Evander Holyfield no doubt can beat other great heavyweights and he did but this isn’t a fight I’d have him take I’d prefer he fight George Foreman, AJ or Mike Tyson even I’d prefer he fight Lennox Lewis who he could beat to boxers like Archie Moore, Ezzard Charles, Ken Norton, Larry Holmes, Muhammad Ali or Gene Tunney.
