We're nearly two decades removed from the BALCO scandal and he's still in the news mucking about causing mayhem. I know SNAC is considered legitimate but, seriously, some crimes close off the possibility of a redemption arc, and if anyone's name should have been long ago blackballed from professional athletics altogether, it's his. Baseball figured that much out... Even if Kingry happens to be wrong about this instance of sabotage, why is Conte in the conversation? You'd be surprised to find there are many Conte defenders who post on this very forum. It's only a matter of time before it blows up again. Boxing really is the last refuge for convicted criminals.
People like Conte will always exist in boxing, because people will always look to find an edge in the world of sports. That includes the chemical kinds.
Yeah, but the national pastime had the sense to give him a lifetime suspension. It seems a very obvious move for all boxing entities to have followed suit, as his mess affected our beloved prize ring just as much as it did the diamond. ...yet they didn't. Fighters are still allowed to associate with him openly. Just seems bananas.
Yeah it is absurd, I agree. I just think there's such a demand for people like him in boxing that we might never be rid of the guy completely, if he's operated in the open like this for decades already.
It's just so funny to me that he now alleges to be combating drug cheating. It's like a sitcom where a rehabilitated Osama Bin Laden becomes a Baptist minister by day and secretly dark ops for the CIA by night.

All I know is if you work with Conte, you are trying to beat the system. Chances are you are either taking something that is legal now but will be on the banned list in the future or you are taking something illegal now and he’s guiding you how to beat the test.
I feel like I made a thread years ago criticizing berto for working with him It's interesting that the high-profile Garcia fight and the test have shed light on this that seem to only really be an issue for people really plugged in I'm still skeptical they did something to spike Garcia's test especially given the supplement story My opinion is that even if he has gone fully legit you are opening yourself up to immense scrutiny and criticism.
