Chavez among Mexicans with Sanchez and Olivares before him. So many. Arguello of Nicaragua. Duran obviously in Panama. Monzon and Bonavena in Argentina. Henry Maske in Germany. Georges Carpentier in France. Jeff Fenech in Australia. Pac in the Phillipines.

For popularity to talent ratio, our own Frank Bruno was possibly our most beloved sportsperson for quite a while.

I'll leave those more knowledgable than me to talk about the lighter weight guys in Asia.

Andrew Golota here in Poland. Even tho he was a dirty boxer who never won anything, lol. But he brought some excitement in the 90's and early 2000's.

I've read that Chris John was big time celebrity and National Hero in Indonesia.

Maybe Lionel Rose of Australia? Bunny Grant of Jamaica?

Well if nobody else is going to say it - Eder Jofre and Brazil.

Huuuuuuuuuge country and he's their only bona fide boxing superstar and he's top 5 ATG bantam. How did he learn his trade in a country that just didn't really care about boxing?
