Who was GREATER, (PRIME) Floyd Mayweather or (PRIME) Roberto Duran?

The key difference to me that makes Duran greater is that he didn't care if he won or lost. Sometimes, he would even volunteer to lose on purpose just to show everyone how great he was. And that is something that Floyd has never proven he could do. Lose on purpose.

Roberto fought everyone. We know he is great. Floyd did not fight guys when they were prime and did not fight the level Duran did. Hard to compare. "

 

Roberto Duran was greater because of his wins against Ray Leonard and Esteban De Jesus. At no point in Floyd's career did he fight anybody anywhere near their levels of ability in the ring.

As for who's better at the art of boxing, Duran was incredible but Floyd is comfortably better than him. Sharper timing, better defense and better boxing in the pocket. Being more explosive also helps. I consider both to be in the list of the 10 most technically skilled fighters ever but Floyd is closer to 1st place than Duran by quite a bit.

 

Duran is a top 10 atg. Floyd is not

 

Duran fought ****ing Hagler. If Hagler was in the same time zone as Floyd there would be an excrement trail to the nearest airport.
