What next for Zhang and Dubois ?

I don’t want to see Zhang fight Hrgovic again. Hrgovic embarrassed himself pre-fight and then got stopped. His cuts will take a while to heal anyway.

I don’t mind Zhang fighting Kabayel or Parker again.

 

Actually they really should fight each other.

Zhang got two wins over Joyce. Dubois lost to Joyce.

Dubois has a win over Hrgovic. Zhang lost to Hrgovic.

So based on past results it’s difficult to separate Zhang and Dubois. For that reason they should fight each other.

 

If Dubois is getting the AJ fight than any combination of Zhang/Kabayal/Parker fighting each other would be cool.

 

Zhang's in a tough spot. Time is not on his side, he's 41, and a lot of the biggest names in the division are tied up. Usyk and Fury are rematching for all the belts minus the IBF. AJ and Dubois are most likely fighting for the IBF later this year.

So Zhang has no choice but to take an interim fight before he can fight for a full world title.

The fight that makes the most sense is a Parker rematch for the WBO interim belt, but it's also the toughest fight, and he can't afford to lose again.

A Hrgovic rematch would probably be decent money, a tricky but winnable fight, and would right his previous wrong.

Kabayel would be a good fight, but probably higher risk than reward for what it's worth.

It would most likely be one of those three. If I had to guess, it will probably be Parker II

 

Zhang has never had speed or stamina. I don’t know that age is as much an issue for him as it is for someone who relies on those two.

 

No need for rematches, keep the momentum going.

I actually hope we get as few rematches as possible.
Zhang vs Kabayel is without a doubt the fight to make.

Fighter of the night for me was Dmitry Bivol He'd absolutely destroyed Canelo, the self proclaimed King of Boxing, ROFLMAO . He had a tougher opponent tonight but finally turned it on & destroyed him too. I cannot wait for Bivol-Beterbiev & hope both are 100 % ready
Really in my estimation there is no serious challenger for Usyk in the heavyweight division He has to be the best southpaw heavyweight champion EVER!!!!!!!!

 

I kind of agree on the rematches. That's not to say Zhang couldn't beat Parker, I just want to see different fights.

 

Agree. The only rematches I want to see are of fights that are so exciting I want to see it again.
I can understand fighters wanting to avenge a loss, but sometimes avenging a loss is not the best fight to make for the fans who just want to see a good fight. It usually fails anyway.

Book it. Let those on their way out get a massive payday.

 

I'd rather Parker get the shot at Joshua, he's more deserving of a shot at AJ. Parker fighting Anderson, Bakole or Wardley seems like a step down. A rematch with Whyte makes sense too, while Whyte is damaged goods it would be good to reverse a loss if he can't get AJ.

Zhang/Kabayel would be interesting, Kabayel's body punching could seriously pose a threat to Zhang and empty his gas tank earlier than normal and it's a logical step up in class for Kabayel. Dubois would be another interesting option, if Dubois can take it into the 2nd half he might gas out Zhang like he did Hrgovic, but he might still be too easy to hit to risk stepping in the Zhang.

Dubois rematching Joyce would be a good option for him too. The first fight was competitive and Dubois has improved, but obviously a dangerous fight for Dubois given he lost the first fight. What worked on Hrgovic probably won't work on Joyce. Joyce won't gas out like Hrgovic.

 

Meh, you say Anderson and the likes would be a step down for Parker yet a Whyte rematch makes sense. Nah, Whyte is not on that level right now and I want to see the momentum keep going.
Granted, Parker should be the one fighting Dubois, Kabayel or Joshua. He most certainly has earned it.

But the common narrative right now seems to be that rematches are the way to go. But I say it´s best to let them all fight each other. I don´t care for another Usyk vs Fury/Dubois/Joshua. I want to see him against Kabeyl, Parker and Zhang.
And I look at everyone else the same way too.
