What's up with the retire BS ? Every single boxer who loses, needs to retire ?

How are you calling yourself a boxing supporter ?

Hrg was easy to hit, I saw that in his previous fights and didn`t see what all the fuss was about.

Hrg has poor reflexes. He got out-jabbed by Dubois while having a 4 inch reach advantage.

Firstly go out and publicly make it clear, even with a highlight clip of all the 20-30 headbutts from Dubois, and expose the crocked ref, who was brought by the Warrens.
And then to actually learn how to fight. You cannot just be emotional and throws million of punches in Round 1 in the hope to gets your opponent out of there, and punch yourself out.
He landed so many right hands, but he essentially punches himself out early on.
But what did the damage was all of the headbutts that added more and more.
And people don't realize, that you don't need to charge fully your head to do a damage.

Very dissapointed in Hrgovic last night.

    - lack of desire
    - one dimensional, didn't bother with bodywork, uppercuts or setting up the jab. All he had to do was jab FFS. Take a page out of Joyce's book.
    - headhunting all night like Wilder without setting anything up. Stupid game plan, could have been avoided easily.
    - Gassed halfway through, terrible conditioning.
    - Poor attitude in not preparing for an opponent like Dubois and not taking it seriously enough.

This is a massive wakeup call for Hrgovic and he needed it badly. He has been bored defeating his opponents searching for a challenge thinking he was above everyone, now he got the #%## smacked out of him and could have been knocked out.

This defeat will mess him up mentally given his past arrogance. Dubois look excellent, completely reborn since Usyk and Joyce losses.

Dubois looked great out there physically and technically. Removed all doubt about his heart and his chin now, taking on big baby who had a 100 pounds on him and TKOing him and now TKOing Hrgovic. His confidence level must be tbrough the roof, but not so much that it makes him arrogant like Hrgovic because thr Usyk and Joyce losses keeps him grounded enough.

This is just the kind of thing that put boxing in the spot it was in before the Ryiadh money came. Someone is hyped heaven high for doing very little, and then one loss and he's a bum. That's just the thinking that makes fighters take as little risk as possible, and milk the few good wins they've got for ages while avoiding other challenges (like Fury tried to with the Wilder wins).

Hrgovic is still fairly young by today's standards and have only had two hard fights, so he should have at least five good years left if the commitment is there. The problem is that he seems to have bought the hype of himself and gotten overconfident by crushing hugely overmatched fighters.

He might actually have thought he would walk right through Dubois because of how he dominated a teenage version of him in sparring and because he probably wasn't very impressed by how he looked against Usyk. But you can never sleep on someone who has the power and relative skill of Dubois and if Hrgovic did in fact think he could, he did indeed get a rude awakening.

So rebuild by fighting some decent opposition. Joyce might be up for it, or Kabayel or Anderson if he can get them in the ring. Or maybe a rematch with Zhang. He'll have to sign with the best opponent he can get and show something. But retire? Nah.

Big setback but 31 is young enough for a rebuild and another run if he wants to do it imo, and he hasn't taken too much damage as far as it goes.
If he takes his time with it he might find that the way to the top and a belt has cleared, a couple of years and we'll have a very different landscape at the top of this division.
He may want to have a good think about what he wants to accomplish with another run though, it might be a good time to think about what he wants to add to his toolkit and who he can learn that from.

Hrgovic seems to be an on top fighter and looks very good when things are going his way, however last night just like in the Zhang fight any sort of resistance and pressure from his opponent he just switches off, becomes not interested any more, lethargic and looks like he would rather be somewhere else. It is a pity because there is no doubting his skills it’s just the mental side of his game that lets him down .

Parker and Dubois are great examples. Both were pretty much written off, and Dubois even had his heart questioned which is a very hard thing for a fighter to have. But they came back and showed the determination that seemed to have been missing earlier and now they're in better positions than ever.

Hrgovic isn't 40. He has more than enough time to do this as well. He has the added challenge of not having a sizeable national following, though, so he'll probably have to take the short end of the purse to get someone decent in there with him, but that's how he has to go about it now.

One or two good wins, and he night suddenly get a meet with one of the big names, even a title fight. Just look at where Parker and Dubois were last year and where they are now.

Was? Who gives a **** about was. He will win another belt.
It’s no coincidence that him and aj have successful and busy the last 18 months. I think it shows the value in fighting often rather than once a year.

i agree retirement is going too far. Boxing fans overreact to these things. However, it seems to me that he isn't in love with the sport. Igf he doesn't love the sport, maybe its time to go. If he wants to rebuild and get better and still loves the sport, we will be talking about him the way we talk about Parker now in 2 years.
