What would a Sonny Liston/Tyson Fury trilogy look like?

Could either man decisively beat the other at least 2/3 times? How would Sonny cope with Fury's size advantage as Liston was used to being the bigger man in the ring?

I see a competitive series that Fury wins. I especially see Fury out working Liston towards the end of those fights, though while probably going down early.

Tyson Fury is like a box of chocolates ... you just never know which version you're gonna get.

I think a good version of Fury beats Liston. A crappy version might just come undone.

Lol Fury has a glass jaw. I see Liston throwing a couple of meaty hooks to send Fury into the shadow realm all 3 times.

Liston was easily able to handle Foreman in sparring, Liston also had a lot more destructive power in both hands and boxing skill than Wilder

    Liston 3/3

Yeah, 19 years old Foreman that was not even pro but a kid that got back from Olympics.
He wouldn't be able to handle 1973 Foreman, 5 years after that sparring.

    Liston wins 2 of 3, probably 3 of 3.

It depends on which Furey shows up I could see him getting into Listons head as did Ali and his awkwardness can throw Liston off, I would say he probably edges Sonny 2-1 out of 3 but wouldnt bet big money on it. If Fury has a so-called glass jaw his recovery abilities definitely make up for it.

Towards the end of those fights? Really? I think his best chance is to get a win early. In all three Wilder fights, even the second one, he took A LOT of damage, and hasn't been the same since (neither has Wilder).

He might win one bout in a trilogy but it would almost certainly be a pyrrhic victory.

Yeah, but praising Liston because he held good against amateur kid isn't the best thing to boost hype about him.
I heard that many mw in sparring gave Liston hell, but I wont pick them to beat Liston.

Why would Fury want to try finishing Sonny early when Liston usually slows down as fights progress? I don’t see any evidence that Liston’s gas tank is made for a competitive 12 rounder against someone that forces him to work. Fury isn’t Machen, or Whitehurst. The plan should absolutely be to outwork Sonny towards the latter half of the fight.

Fury was way too big and slow for Wilder 2 and 3 if we’re using him in a fight against Liston, in the first fight he probably wasn’t peak anymore either but he was piecing Deontay up despite getting hurt. It’s also worth mentioning that for all of his technical deficiencies, Wilder gets that right hand off much quicker than Sonny does, and probably hits harder.

I can see Liston hurting Fury at points in their fights, but I don’t see him finishing Tyson or capitalizing on it for the rest of the fight. Fury’s recovery is too good and his style is designed to give a shorter slower plodder like Liston fits. The movement, speed, lack of predictability, I don’t see how this is a good matchup for Liston at all.

Liston has never shown the ability to beat bigger opponents and would be one of the smallest fighters Fury has ever faced. Don't really see how Liston gets around Fury's reach and height as well as his ability to keep the fight on the outside. Fury wins a clear decision

Liston punches Fury in the face and knocks him out. I just don't see how Fury can survive a prime Listons destructive power for 12 rounds. The man legit got hurt but a shot, light hitting blown up Steve Cunningham.

And I don't see how Liston reaches a taller lengthier bigger fighter something he has never done.
