If I was Frank I would look to release Yarde as amicably as possible. The Buatsi fight is a big one obviously, but generally speaking this is not worth going the legal route IMO.
Regardless of how much is left in Anthony's career, QP would put a high value on defending contractual rights, as weakening those would strike at the heart of their business model.
Fck him off. What's he going to do, fight half decent against another world champ again then spend the following few years in awful fights? Must be about 33 by now.
The correct route is to protect his contract without resorting to an injunction. If Yarde owes anything to Queensberry then a court will tell him to settle it and he won't have been restrained from earning enough to pay it.
The only one I know he’s beat that’s a name is Arthur. I say a name lol. It’s been a bizarre career for yarde.
Not sure whether Shalom/Boxxer genuinely think Yarde's a free agent or it's a bit of desperation from them. Has Okolie vibes to it and didn't Boxxer have to settle that one?
Ben Shallom always says the right things on camera with a lot of things, but these messy contractual things keeps leading back to Boxxer. He seems to have alienated himself from the Saudi cash, for fighters of minimal draw.
Agreed, that’s why I said try to amicably agree his release. It’s only 1 last fight, so it doesn’t have larger business implications. In any case, my interpretation is that Team Yarde haven’t figured out that Anthony’s only real value now is in big fights like Buatsi. They are moving like it’s back in 2020 and before when Frank was dependant on him and Dubois to headline shows against bums. As we can all see the landscape has changed. Franks in the big time with Eddie/Saudi and he has new kids, like Sheeraz, Itauma and Ball etc who are probably more marketable than Yarde - Sheeraz definitely is already. They are also bulking up the cards with 7 fights + which makes it less necessary to have the real big names. Team Yarde should be at the stage where they are circling the run way and looking to land the plane on some big paydays before calling it a day. Going down this route will end in epic failure and by todays news with Hutchinson, Frank is putting the hammer down on him already.
I read the thing on Hutchinson and just thought that's the biggest "we don't ****ing need you" too team Yarde
Yes, it seems like Tunde forgot that WBO trump card that Frank has so often wielded. Interesting that Ben Shalom was pleading for more time, guess that answers the question of where Yarde was planning to go to
The funny thing for this is, you can just imagine Frank and Eddie laughing about this on the plane back from Saudi, such is the new alignment in boxing. One day Ben will realise Sky only want boxing if it (a) leads to PPV money, (b) features diversity or (c) has little carbon footprint. You can't imagine Sky sending a crew abroad anywhere now if they can help it.
