There many 6’6” 280lb Chinese dudes who can hit like George Foreman out there? Seems out of the ordinary.

His stamina issues seem to be ignored by those who over rate him. But ordinary? He isn’t that.

Dunno, Joyce and Wilder have never been one-shot KO'ed like that (Fury had to pummel Wilder for 11 rounds and it was clearly more of an attrition/exhaustion thing), while Parker is known for having a very good chin.

These are way better gauges of his power than Wilder's opponents (trying to think if a single person he KO'ed was known for having a good beard?).

I legit think Zhang may be one of the hardest punchers of all time.

Yeah it's odd, he was an Olympic silver medallist and two time bronze medal winner at the world championships so he had that amateur pedigree. But it took him 8 years as a pro to get an opportunity when he fought Hrgovic.

He signed to a Chinese promoter when he turned pro and maybe that's where things started off wrong, not being signed to a major promoter meant he wasn't getting the kind of opportunities and struggled to secure the type of fights that would get him noticed and didn't have the influence to push him up the rankings. But then maybe the big promoters were not interested in a Chinese boxer as there wasn't and still isn't an established large boxing fanbase in China.

Sucks that his prime has basically been wasted, maybe he would have been a real force sooner had he been given the opportunities.

Plus you can see how he put durable journeymen Craig Lewis and Scott Alexander to sleep with half-assed punches. Both never were stopped before, Lewis never was knocked down proir to facing Zhang

I guess being 41 has something to do.
And when was Fury close to 300 pounds fighting with a decent stamina.
Fury was what 277 or so against Ngannou at 34 years of age, and his stamina was straight up s****.
Now imagine Fury at 291,6 pounds and 41 years old, which what Zhang was against Parker, and tell us about it. I tell you Fury would looks like 100x. time worst.

Zhang at this age, should try to comes in the 270 range in my opinion. He lost around 10 pounds from Parker to Wilder, but i think 10 more pounds will give him a bit more speed, and won't take anything away from him destructive power, and may even give him more stamina.

Once Wilder signed to fight Zhang I knew it would be a disaster for Wilder.

It's not a good idea to fight a boxer who's bigger, better skilled, extremely hard-hitting southpaw with solid chin.

What were Wilder's team thinking as they knew already that Zhang knocked iron-chinned Joe Joyce out cold with single right hook.

Of course, the fight went as expected. Zhang timed Wilder with right hook and KO'd him cold too.

Agreed coming in lighter would not hurt and can only benefit him. So many heavyweights these days seem to abuse the lack of an upper limit at heavyweight and use it as an excuse to come in at less than great shape. Talent and skills can allow you to get away with that for a while but eventually you'll come up against someone that can test that gas tank and exploit that weakness. It cost him against Hrgovic and perhaps Parker too.

Good power but lets be honest: he's a fat fakk putting meat behind his shots and his fat hide hides the technique we call boxing. What Wilder did on a leaner body was more impressive, Inoue leaving opponents in the astral plane for minutes even more so.

If Parker and Usyk carried power they've be unstoppable.
If Joshua had good footwork, he'd be unstoppable.
If Fury laid off the cheeseburgers, he'd be unstoppable.
If Wilder could jab and had a chin, he'd be unstoppable.

    & so on.

He is a big puncher. I am suprised he lost to Parker. He needs more good wins, will be interesting to see who he will fight next.

He's a legit hitter, no doubt about that. He does not have the heaviest hands I've ever seen.

Zhang has the most terrific punch timing among Heavyweights today.

He got strengths & weaknesses, but he understood them very well.
