Something was up with him against Zhang, not his usual self. Hopefully we see Wilder back to his best soon
Even When he got hit and just spun around complaining to the ref before KO, he’s never done that before, very odd
That wasn't a conscious act. He was stunned and was momentarily on a flash back to the KD in the Fury 2 fight. And I doubt very much that Wilder will ever get back to his 'usual self' That ship has long sailed.
Indeed. Nobody will pay to watch him beat on cans anymore. (In all seriousness, I don't think he's really all that declined - he's just fighting much better opponents now).
He's had cracks in that suspect mandible since Dustin Nichols and Harold Sconiers exposed his shaky whiskers years ago!!!
He's most definitely doing that, for sure, Bubbles. But I do think he's declined, and also changed mentally as a person. You can see that mental change both in and out of the ring. The build up to the Parker bout showed me a different side to Wilder..he was waffling on like a good one. He'd get asked specific boxing questions and a lot of the time he went off on tangents and rambling philosophies that had nowt to do with the questions asked. Lol. The actual fight with Parker was just as weirdly telling. He pretty much didn't throw any punches with bad intentions for the first 8 and a half rounds. He did little after that. His body language and aggression demeanor was just totally off for me. He did try a bit better in the Zhang fight, but I still struggled to see any real self belief and conviction from him. Just my take on things.
