Fury's honest opinion about Joshua: 'he gave me a beating'

The one time Fury could have beaten Joshua is after Joshua's second loss to Usyk. This version of Joshua was low on confidence and i truly think Tyson could have beaten this version.

Hard to see Fury winning now that Joshua has found his confidence back.

Fury picked Wilder because he knew Joshua was a bigger risk back in 2020.

Joshua beats him now barring Fury landing something big and catching Anthony off guard.

 

Fury will probably go down as the biggest underachiever since Bowe. He was so obsessed with his undefeated Mayweather record (0) that he stopped taking any risks outside of fighting Wilder.

Now if Fury had taken risks, he probably would have 3-4 losses by now. However, he would also likely have many more quality wins and hence, his legacy would be much greater. Instead of the 4-5 good wins he has in his career, he likely would have had a dozen good wins mixed in with a few losses. That's a much better legacy.

Hrgovic supposedly beat up Dubios too. Doesn't necessarily translate into the ring.

He did too. Just, Hrgovic hasn't improved since and came in not fully fit, so got into trouble when he couldn't stop Dubois.

 

Without a bit of luck with referees, he could easily have had 3-4 losses in his career as it really played out.

Definitely - it all went off the rails with the failure to rematch Wlad, a fight he would have been very likely to lose.

Carrying on fighting instead of retiring.

Fighting Joshua, Povetkin, a less ruined Whyte, Parker, Ruiz, etc - he'd have lost a couple, but his resume would be undisputably ATG worthy... Instead, it's a what could've been.

 

This side of Fury is very likable shame we don't get to see more of it I get he has to sell fights but I don't think that is all of it I mean just look at his dad although I did like Fury's reaction to him after the headbutt incident said what we was all thinking

 

I always said Fury was the only guy I can see giving AJ a L of course this was before Usyk was at Heavyweight and Ruiz 1 but that's Heavyweight boxing 1 punch can change a fight

 

Imagine a world wear Fury kept his **** together after the WK fight and won the rematch and AJ took a step back after knocking down Ruiz and giving himself more space to finish him of instead of rushing in and getting caught then they wend on to fight for all the marbles at Wembley that fight would of eclipsed anything we have ever seen.
We still got good fights but nothing like that would of been and Usyk would of still come along but it would of been after

 

Fury's got awful genetics for bodybuilding. His hips are wider than his shoulders and he has zero muscle tone.

 

Yeah sure, now I'm simping for Fury lmao. Something he said 14 years ago means nothing today, people change and so do their opinions.

 

I agree somewhat but I still think we need to see Joshua have a good performance vs an actual top 10 Heavyweight to see if these improvements are actual improvements or it's just a case of him facing lesser opposition.

Dubois would be a good test for Joshua and it's a very winnable fight for him to see where he belongs.
