He did but it was also due to carful matchmaking all his fights was almost risk free unti Fury and you can not deny team Wilder thought they was getting Fury at the right time. I believe his management matched him this way as they knew he was not going to improve much due to his mentality they must of had conversations with his trainer at the time and decided he/they can make the most money with the path they took and at the end of the day that is what most fighters are fighting for so they did the right thing for Wilder with the exception of maybe not taking the 100m for AJ fight I think they got that one wrong as because that was win win no matter the outcome of the fight
The fact that you dont think Wilder is shot is hilarious and I completley disagree with what you said. Many fighters have come back from getting knocked out cold. Terry Norris, Lennox Lewis, Roberto Duran, Tommy Hearns etc What fighters dont come back from is a sutained beating and that is what Wilder suffered in 2 straight fights vs Fury.
Wow, this thread and the guy who made it are hilarious, it's sad AJ and every other good fighter at HW ducked Wilder and a chance to become a champion making millions of dollars a fight because his clumsy ass is so scary. I remember back during Tyson's heyday as champ, it was a common question "would you get in the ring with Tyson for a million bucks? (big money back then) To which most people would answer hell yeah, he could knock me the **** out for a million. But Wilder made that classic hypothetical a reality by giving the common man off the streets shots to become champ and big paydays. What a time to be alive to see people defending to the death a fighter of Wilder's caliber lol.
And yet most of this forum didn't expect it to be competitive, let alone one-sided for Parker. Hindsight is a glorious thing... Realistically, it was always risky to match Wilder up with someone who was a clear step up from anyone he'd even beaten, but the hype/myth was still strong at that point.
Charlie Z done it for free and he didn't even get knocked out even when Wilder pummeled him when he was on the floor
He was offered the Joshua fight after Miller popped but turned it down. Opportunities don't get much bigger than that.
We respectively disagree. Guess it matters what you call world level but to me a top 5 heavyweight in the world is generally world level
