Could Tex Cobb have gone the distance with peak George Foreman?

A better fighter with a more durable chin didn’t.

 

Chuvalo had a better chin and skills was stopped on his feet couldnt

 

Tex would have had nothing but his chin in there.. And that would have let him down eventually.

 

Foreman is one of the ring's best cutters; nothing from distance.
Besides, if Cobb took that beating from Holmes, I can't even imagine what would have happened to Foreman.
Cobb would be in danger of life or health, or both.

Foreman would t off on poor Tex. No way Tex sees the final bell. He survived a faded Shavers, but a prime Foreman is another matter.

 

Tex was bigger and far more mobile than Chuvalo .. he matched George in reach , height and weight .. it's more like the LeDoux bout and as long as George is cool the punishment he would administer could be frightening.

 

Doubtful. Randy had an excellent chin. Decent power. And was comparably sized to George. But he was too hittable and would have stood right in front of him.

Foreman couldn't have stopped him, but I expect George to quickly realize that and adapt as he did in Peralta I. Tex is one opponent he couldn't physically overpower, and Cobb had vastly superior stamina due to little power. His best punch was a heavy jab. Neither was Tex a bleeder with a face that did not swell.

Aside from that chin, Randy could also take it to the body, as he showed with Shavers. Finally, he took kicks to the face and body in a PKA 12 rounder against Big John Jackson, a guy noted for his kicks, and Tex took those without flinching. No way Foreman's punches are as strong as Jackson's flush kicks.

George proved with Peralta that he could box when necessary, and he outmaneuvered Chuvalo. It's a punching sport, and Foreman was simply a better puncher and more skilled boxer. But he doesn't stop Tex early, which means he doesn't stop him at all.

 

In their rematch, Tex swarmed all over a bulked up Dokes, chasing Michael all over the ring and overwhelming him with sheer punching volume.
