I think Bowe showed some skills and grit on the inside and Golota got the better of him because Bowe was past it and I believe had already begun to show signs of physiological deterioration by that point. I meant moreso in my OP that Bowe's most noteable work was done on the inside. All his big fights/stoppages etc. seemed to take place and have long stretches in the trenches which I found interesting for such a tall guy. I also feel like Bowe was better than Golota on the inside which is why Golota would always low blow Bowe (starting rd 3 fight 1) any time Bowe began to move his hands on the inside, then he would catch him at midrange with 3-5 big punches in a row.

Just the craziest ****. Who purposely fouls out of a match they're decidedly winning? I mean, that wasn't some slick disguised head butting, he threw blatant unashamed head butts, and an actual COMBO to the nuts. "Riddick? Nah, now you're just Rid"

In hindsigh it was tragic how badly beaten Bowe was in both fights and how much damage he absorbed.
Maybe Dr. Golota going literally nuts was a blessing in disguise because spared Bowe further damage.

Anyway, my enduring non PC memory of the 2nd fight is my old man and me ROFL when Golota decided Bowe's new career would be soprano singer...

I don't see it personally Holyfield has more dimensions to his game he can attack or box, better combination puncher, bigger puncher, physically stronger, i think it would be a distance fight but i see Holyfield prevailing in a competitive fight.

I think a prime Holyfield could definitely of beaten the fat out of shape Ali who was past his best, i watched that fight a few months and Young certainly didn't cover himself in glory that night fighting a very negative fight.

The Norton and Foreman fights were good performances i agree but for me Young was a bit too negative for my liking, i respect him as a fighter and he was skillful with a very good defence but i could never warm to him. He didn't have that X Factor to me and never really seemed to lift the pace or go up another gear.

I am now the one defending Norton? I think that Riddick Bowe would be in the fight but Kenny would’ve won IMO.

BOOM! Holyfield wasn't one dimensional enough for Young to beat him.

Bad match for Norton. Add to this is Futch would have him pasting Norton early. Bowe could be awfully mean in there and i see him putting it on Kenny from the start.

Exactly how I envision it. Certain fights Bowe took the Tyson route by blitzing opponents caught off guard from the get go.

I actually think Ken's dreadfully underrated jab would help him last into the 7th. But yeah, Bowe was too good, big and with plenty of power and an uppercut that was an atom bomb. Ken would ultimately be doomed.

    Damn it.

Actually predicted this in the book

    Ken Norton vs. Riddick Bowe

Norton’s cross-arm defence will play into Bowe’s inside game, and with the big size difference and Bowe’s powerful uppercuts, Norton’s chin just won’t hold up. Verdict:

TKO win to Bowe in Round Four.
