Peak Corbett vs. Willard Miske Brennan Carpentier Gibbons Firpo Tunney How does he do against them around the time Dempsey fought them?
Tunney beats him ,Gibbons was maybe a little past his best,Firpo might very well demolish Corbett whom little Tom Sharkey steamrolled,Brennan has a solid chance imo,Miske was up and down due to his illness,Carpentier could beat Corbett,Willard was past his best,Corbett should win a dec here.
From what I've read about Corbett-Sharkey, at least in their first fight, Corbett was hitting him at will until his poor conditioning got the better of him. Also seems like Corbett began losing around the same time Sharkey made it a wrasslin match rather than a boxing match. I always found wild brawlers like Firpo to be the perfect kind of style for Corbett to exploit.
